Today, October 12, 2025, my wife and I visited this Uniqlo store. The selection of items was, as always, very good, and prices in Japan are quite reasonable. However, something unexpected happened during our purchase…
The salesperson packed all our items into one large shopping bag — and forgot to include three of my sweaters. Fortunately, we were staying nearby, so we noticed the mistake quickly. Still, it took about two hours to sort everything out.
The staff’s English wasn’t great, so we had to communicate through ChatGPT. They took my receipt and probably checked the security cameras — maybe to make sure I wasn’t trying to cheat them (which I understand, since I had already left the store and then came back saying, “three sweaters are missing”).
In the end, they did find the sweaters. To my surprise, they asked me again about the colors and sizes, as if picking new ones — I thought my originals were still at the counter, but apparently not. They finally handed me three sweaters and apologized, but no one even offered me a shopping bag. I had to pull out my own shop plastic bag.
Overall, the experience — especially for Japan — was disappointing for...
