Note: This place does have English menus and they also allow smoking indoors.
This place is a solid 3.5 star unique experience for trying some of the much sought after Kobe beef yakiniku-style. Yakiniku is a style of cuisine where you cook your food over hot coals.
Living on the edge cooking expensive pieces of Kobe on your own! Kekeke.
It’s a pub-style atmosphere where you sit in a room together and enjoy each other’s company while cooking Kobe beef and a whole host of other meats and vegetables on a piping hot shichirin (clay pot filled with hot coals). The staff here are nice and if you need service you can click on the “Call Attendant” button.
The room is separated by booths with a table and a really powerful fume hood hanging over top to suction all the smoke that comes from the grill. This place is a la carte and the menu tries to educate you as well as provide you the full complement of Kobe if you are so inclined to try them all.
Price-wise, we didn’t come here to get full but wanted to try the famed Kobe beef and have a nice meal. We knew we were probably going to hit up the Dotonburi afterwards for more food.
We started the night with a highball glass of Suntory whiskey and some ume plum wine while we browsed the menu to pick out all the goodies that we wanted.
When we were ready we ordered the following:
The Kobe beef special platter that had 4 different slices including the top 3 special cuts of the day. A platter of pork belly Some veggies such as sanshou peppers, pumpkin, corn, and eggplant.
Some would think it’s crazy to risk cooking really expensive beef on your own but we were up to the challenge. You’ve never seen such focus and concentration as we listen and watch the most well marbled pieces of protein ever hit the grill.
It turned out all right! More than all right, it was fun!
They also provided 3 different tare (dipping sauces) for your Kobe, other protein and veggies, and some really awesome salt from a local region in Japan.
The Kobe beef was just magical. It had that great sear on it from the coals and the unique taste that comes from cooking over them. It melted in your mouth once you started to softly chew it. Really reminded me of ootoro nigiri that you can also find in Tokyo.
Aside from the Kobe beef, I really enjoyed the grilled veggies especially the sanshou peppers which were sweet and had a slight kick. You had to rub the big hunk of beef fat they give you around the grill and that will give you a good clue about which parts of the grill are hot.
I think this place can be a unique experience to try something that you’ve probably heard so much about. There is no need to fear about “ruining” such expensive pieces of protein because they give you all the tools to cook...

Google review 300 words for their reasonable pricing of kobe beef yakiniku. tucked away at some small street. better if have charcoal grill. poor ventilation. generous servings.
I recently had the opportunity to visit a small restaurant tucked away on a quiet street that serves delicious Kobe beef yakiniku at a reasonable price. From the moment I walked through the door, I could tell that the restaurant had a casual and intimate atmosphere.
The pricing of the Kobe beef yakiniku was definitely a pleasant surprise. It is not often that you come across a restaurant that serves such high-quality meat at such a reasonable price point. I was especially impressed by the generous servings, which were more than enough to satisfy my appetite.
The restaurant had no traditional charcoal grill, which will really enhanced the flavors of the meat. The char from the grill would have added an extra layer of complexity to the flavors, making the experience even more enjoyable.
One downside to the restaurant was the poor ventilation. The smoke from the grill lingered in the air, making it a bit stuffy inside. While it did add to the ambiance, it could be a bit overwhelming for some diners.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at this small Kobe beef yakiniku restaurant. The reasonable pricing, generous servings, and delicious flavors make it a great value for the money. The traditional charcoal grill added an extra touch of authenticity and made for a truly memorable meal. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a casual and delicious...
Read moreVisited here as a solo traveler last week and thoroughly enjoyed it! I was able to make a reservation via Google and the staff was very accommodating with my extremely limited Japanese 😂 All ordering is done via smartphone, I found the English menu easy to navigate and use and appreciated being able to order additional items throughout my 2 hour time slot.
The food was excellent - I had been looking for a place to try Kobe beef while in Japan, so I got one of the Kobe sets. The presentation was gorgeous and the meat was delicious. After the set, I also ordered the same cut (short ribs I think) both as Kobe and just "domestic beef" and thought they were both delicious (and hard to distinguish a difference), so either my palate is not that refined or they're just sourcing excellent meat overall.
I don't drink, but tried out two of their mocktails and found them both delicious.
Overall, with all the meat I ordered, drinks, and a side of kimchi, my total (after conversion) was $77, which feels like an incredible deal considering the meal and experience I have. I would gladly come back and hope to...
