Finally got to visit this restaurant tonight for our final dinner in Osaka.
Staff were very welcoming upon entrance, and got us a seat at the bar immediately.
Team there can speak English and Chinese, as some of the other reviews have noted. Asked us how hungry we were, if we had any dietary restrictions, and recommended a four course dinner for us. Unfortunately the menu did not translate adequately via Google Translate but that's no fault of the restaurant.
Got recommended the smoked potato salad, braised pork, ginger chicken (no, not your crappy Chinese takeout stuff), and a miso aburi fish.
Smoked potato salad was very well balanced, and the smokiness came through very nicely without being overpowering. I couldn't figure out what type of smoke, but hickory is my best guess.
Braised pork was delightful, great texture, flavoured popped in the mouth, fat rendered nicely penetrating deep throughout the pork.
Ginger chicken was good, the smell immediately permeating through the restaurant as soon as chef started prep. Umami ++, but perhaps mildly under salted. The cabbage salad added beautiful freshness to the dish.
Finally, the miso aburi'd fish. Honestly a stunner. Tastes like it was lightly steamed through, then coated in a miso paste, flame grilled and served. Good salinity, perhaps over salted a tad, but the flavours were delightful.
Paired great with a sake that was recommended.
Finished with some tea, which rounded off a fabulous meal
Overall, this place is a must visit, personally reminded me of a home cooked meal by a loved one.

Read moreTucked away on a quiet street, this small sushi spot in aosaka is a true hidden gem. I stumbled in late at night, and despite the hour, the chef greeted me with a warm smile and incredible hospitality. The space is intimate, with just a few seats at the counter, which made the whole experience feel personal and special.
What really sets this place apart is the chef’s passion and flexibility. Even in the middle of the night, he was happy to craft custom dishes based on what I was craving. The sushi and sashimi were outstanding—each piece was expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The fish was exceptionally fresh, with the sashimi practically melting in my mouth and the sushi rice perfectly seasoned and slightly warm. Every bite highlighted the quality of the ingredients and the chef’s skill.
There was a wide range of options, from classic favorites like tuna and salmon to more unique cuts and seasonal specials. The chef even offered recommendations . Overall, this was one of the most memorable sushi experiences I’ve had in Tokyo. The combination of top-quality food, a friendly and talented chef, and the willingness to go above and beyond for guests makes this place a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic, late-night sushi with a...
Read moreAs first-time visitors to Japan and new to the whole Japanese cuisine scene we took a gamble on this place based on the reviews we read. I liked the idea of a small, family place and a kind, welcoming owner, and I wasn't disappointed. We came with our two teenage kids and were made to feel right at home as soon as we arrived and were lucky enough to get a table. The owner was just lovely, communicated patiently to us with Google translate, asked about any dietary restrictions. We then just let him bring us food that he thought would be most appropriate for us, and it was amazing. My favourites were the crumbed scallops and the pork, whilst the kids loved the chicken. The ambience is so relaxed, very laid-back. I would go back in a heartbeat if we weren't leaving. If, as tourists, you're uncertain about coming here, give it a go - you won't be disappointed. Edit - I should add that the meal was...
