Manryo — Restaurant in Osaka

We were looking for somewhere close to our hotel to eat on our first night. We came across this little gem, however it was fully booked up for the night at 6pm, and packed with locals. We managed to book for the following evening, generously squeezing us in. We were not disappointed. You select your meat cuts, and there are loads to choose from, and cook it yourself on a little table top BBQ. There are extractor fans at your table, so, unlike some places, you don’t leave smelling of your dinner. We opted for beef loin, pork, chicken and scallops, all fresh and of high quality. For sides we took a mixed salad and rice, cabbage and dips already provided. Five beers later, £45 approx, wowser, our best meal yet in this wonderful country. My first experience with Yakiniku, and I absolutely loved it. I went on a Saturday evening and being alone wasn’t a problem at all. Try doing that in the Netherlands—eating out alone on a Saturday night. Even though I made a late reservation, there was still a spot for me, which was great. The 2 of us were told to wait outside even though it was already our reservation time, while a couple of Japanese just went right in without issue. Nothing happened for the next 5 minutes so we had to go in again to check in on them. Turned out the table was ready the whole time and we were finally led to our table.
