After another restaurant turned me and my fiancee away due to the late hour, I said "I want to eat ramen!" This place was well-rated, so we stopped in. We were very happy to find this shining gem of a spot. The shop is small, but because it is standing only, it doesn't feel cramped. The hand-written menus gave the whole restaurant a personal charm, and the chef's music choice suited the atmosphere.
The chef recommended the miso ramen, and my fiancee got the tonkotsu shoyu ramen. The toppings had plenty of vegetables, and a nice slice of good quality ham. The miso ramen had thicker, chewy noodles that let the luxurious, deep miso broth stick to them, while the tonkotsu shoyu ramen had thinner noodles that fit the stronger, more pungent broth. I must emphasize that the broth was so good that I finished my own broth as well as my fiancee's broth. I told the chef that if I had not already proposed, I would be proposing marriage to the broth. I thought I know good ramen broth before. I was wrong.
We also got a ham katsu cutlet that was very tasty, served with cabbage, mayo, and a high-quality red miso to flavor the cabbage. This was also excellent. I hear it's hard to find in other restaurants.
Service was quick, but not so quick that you worry about quality. The chef was very friendly, chatting to the other customers and to us when she had a moment. We felt very welcomed, and we will definitely be back. I want to try the tonkotsu shoyu ramen on its own, and the "level 10" spicy ramen, and the other two types of ramen. There are also more dishes to try. And it's very cheap, especially for the very high quality! Please come here and try the food - you will...
