We ordered the special mix yakisoba and special okonomiyaki. The yakisoba was flavourful but they burnt the base of our okonomiyaki. When they asked if the food was good, we told them the base of the okonomiyaki tasted burnt and they just said sorry and walked away. Might as well not ask. We would have been happy if they just recooked it considering their staff told us not to touch it until she comes back, but because she was busy with other tables, she didn't come back till it was burnt. When she saw it, she hesitated for a moment then continued to flip the burnt okonomiyaki over to finish cooking.
The place is also cash only which is now the less common practice in Osaka compared to 5 years ago pre covid when it was still predominantly cash based society. We waited in line for over an hour and at no point were there visible signs at the start of the queue to say it was cash only. It was only till we reached the top of the stairs was there a sign on the door that said no credit card. This is poor considering the staff interacted with us and took our orders whilst we were still an hour away from the front of the line. Massively disappointed this was in a Michelin guide historically with this sort...
Read moreI gave one star only because there's no minus rating. This place deserves a minus 5.
Disgusting place!!! The kitchen area is a mess, and the iron plate where the cook makes the food is so incredibly dirty (and being used by one customer after another without cleaning)!! Not to mention there was an unknown insect landed on my head and leg just when I was served the very first dish. I immediately told the waitress that I am not going to accept this dining situation and would leave. While leaving the place, another waiter grabbed my arm and tried to pull me back to The Place asking me to pay. I came back into the place and stated clearly that they shouldn't ask customers to pay with such services. However, the seemingly senior staff was shouting at me and my wife to leave. That was outrageous!! How is it possible that the food service is delivered in such a rude attitude and the place would have been shut down for sanitary reason had it been in other cities of Japan or New York!! Japan is such a wonderful place to visit and people are nince here - but Sorry to say this place leaves us bad impression of Osaka. Despite the service, they should improve the sanitary condition to...
Read moreI think this place is just okay! I'm convinced that if a place has a line in Osaka, it's probably overhyped.
Our party of 2 came at 6pm after walking around Dotonbori. The wait time sign said 45 minutes, but we probably ended up waiting for about 1 hour.
We ordered the Ajinoya Mix and Yakisoba mix. The okonomiyaki and yakisoba tasted fine to me. I would say the yakisoba edged out and was slightly more delicious. But both didn't warrant the long wait. Total bill came out to around 4100 yen.
You're waiting along a narrow staircase with people leaving the restaurant, so it gets uncomfortable They take your order while you're waiting in line. Straightforward service and they speak English. Menus are also in Chinese and Korean Our line was full of Koreans, Singaporeans and Taiwanese. There were a few local Japanese that seemed to get seated quicker than the tourists (That's just how Japan is) CASH ONLY Service was fine and straightforward. Our cook seemed like he was just doing his job. We did hear the boss lady scold a customer loudly for touching the okonomiyaki before it was cooked. I wouldn't say it's a relaxed...
