Terrible sketchy restaurant. Terrible staff. They offer unlimited Japanese Wagyu for a price, we opted for the 90 minutes course — in the middle of our 90 minute meal, the tablet that was used to order more food kept saying to STOP ordering. The tablet becomes unusable to order at that point. Next, when we were close to our 90 minute mark, staff started to clean the whole place and we slamming plates and utensils everywhere. We basically felt unwanted and unwelcomed at that place. Im not sure if they hated tourists or they just hated the fact that we ordered alot off their menu. And it wasn’t even ALOT. It was just 4 small platters and 1 premium meat platter— and if that wasnt enough, just when we were about to pay our bill, and my companion was finishing our order, a staff told our table to leave because they were closing. It wasnt even a kind or respectful gesture but more of a “get out” vibe. Note that they did this around midnight and they close at 1am, while there were other tables still dining. We were confused since our 90 min time frame was not even up.
Im NEVER going back to this place nor recommending it to anyone. They offer “UNLIMITED” beef but wont even let you order after a certain batch has arrived. They even serve you very thick cut beef for longer cooking time. They also hide their better quality beef under a different category as to confuse customers to just order the cheaper cuts of meat. Nope, never going back to this place again.— even if they had good views of the...
Read moreWe had a reservation at 7pm and were seated at 7:05pm or 7:06pm. We got the 2 hour Dotonbori selection. According to basic math, we should have been able to stay until 9:05pm, but the waitress rudely told us our time was up at 8:53pm. In conclusion, not only were we seated late, but we were kicked out early.
The food itself was fine. However, if you get the Dotonbori course, be careful to order the menu items exclusive to that menu (indicated by a red circular sign). On the English menu, these items are listed under the Beef Tongue section and the Raw Sashimi section. We made the mistake of ordering the skirt steak since it’s “recommended”, but they actually give a huge steak to try to fill you up and deter you from ordering other cuts. AVOID the skirt steak at all costs if you’re trying to go for value.
Also, the Wagyu cuts felt like they took longer to come out than the regular cuts - so be careful around the time limit. In the last 5 minutes, you can only order one additional item per person as well.
Overall 1/5 for me because it felt like a were intentionally misled and rushed. The food...
Read moreDon’t bother to go if you don’t speak any Japanese or Chinese. I am a Chinese speaker but we took the English menu as I have an English speaking company with me. The waiter didn’t give us time to read all menus and quickly told us to choose between the standard/premium and time wanted (90 vs 120mins). We came for the Wagyu so we ordered the premium thinking that the more expensive one will have what we want. He told us we are also required to choose an all-you-can-drink option. Thinking that was strange, we reluctantly picked the cheapest option.
Half way through eating, I overheard another waiter introducing the menu items in detail (in Chinese) including all “three” set options (standard/premium and limited) and apparently, the “limited” option is the one with wagyu. He also mentioned that you can just order one drink (can be less expensive) instead of the all-you-can-drink option.
I was quite upset learning that we weren’t even presented the limited option which literally every customer after us ordered. Feeling bitter, this made the meat feel like nothing special. I only enjoyed the...
