Nestled in the bustling heart of Osaka's Namba district, the Onitsuka Tiger store is a vibrant oasis for sneaker enthusiasts and casual shoppers alike. As someone who loves exploring cities on foot, I was thrilled to stumble upon this spot during a weekend jaunt through Shinsaibashi. The store's sleek, minimalist design immediately caught my eye—think clean white walls accented with bold red stripes, evoking the brand's iconic heritage. What truly impressed me was the incredible selection of shoes. Rows upon rows of classic Mexico 66s, modern GSMs, and limited-edition collaborations filled the shelves, offering something for every style and stride. Whether you're after retro vibes for sightseeing or comfy options for Osaka's endless walking tours—from Dotonbori neon lights to the serene Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine—the variety caters to all. I tried on a pair of lightweight trail runners perfect for urban adventures, and the staff's knowledgeable recommendations made the experience effortless. Prices were reasonable, with some exclusives not found elsewhere in Japan. Beyond the shoes, the store stocks apparel and accessories that complement the footwear, but it's the shoe selection that shines brightest. Service was friendly and unhurried, despite the crowds. If you're in Namba and need reliable kicks to keep up with Osaka's energetic pace, this is your go-to. I left with a fresh pair and a spring in my step—highly recommended for any traveler prioritizing...
Read moreWanted to do an exchange for a bigger size shoe at the store on 6 May and ask a female sales rep A. Torihara to help us out. She looked at the shoe and receipt and went to the back to supposedly check. Came back out less than a min and told me size that I wanted is no longer available. Ask for her help to check for other stores in the area but she said exchange can only be done at this store instead. We were sad and stayed abit to look at other designs which we could exchange for instead and awhile later approach a great gent T. Tanaka for help. Told him about our predicament, he went back in and came back with the size we wanted which A.Torihara said it was no longer available 10 mins ago. We were aghast but super delighted! If you fellas want exemplary and superb customer service. Pls look for T.Tanaka!! He is very professional and super helpful displaying character attributes which we trust encompasses Onitsuka Tiger company values as a whole. They should be proud to have an employee like him making the company look good. A.Torihara behaviour seems to be like she's serving her job notice and not too much interested to help customers out. When T.Tanaka was helping us out, she was anxiously waiting by the entrance to head home. And btw don't bother to expect a smile from one of the cashier lady with short hair and no eye brows. She'll give you the cold shoulder just like her cold look....
Read moreDuring my recent visit to your store, I was disappointed by the level of customer service received. My wife and I were excited to purchase our first pair of Onitsuka shoes together, but our experience fell short of the high standards of hospitality we have come to expect in Japan.
When we politely tried to get a staff member’s attention, we were met with a dismissive gesture and directed to another staff member, who then walked away without acknowledging us. Later, while waiting in line, the same staff member unexpectedly tapped my wife on the shoulder and told her to "move inward," which made her uncomfortable.
I understand the store was busy and located in a tourist area, but a simple acknowledgment, smile, or bow would have gone a long way in making us feel welcome, in line with the Japanese tradition of omotenashi and attentive service. Unfortunately, this was not the case during our visit.
I have already shared this feedback with the store manager, expressing my disappointment in the hope that future customers will receive the courteous service that is typical in Japan. I encourage other visitors to share their experiences respectfully, so the store can continue to improve and they...
