Niboshi-Ramen Tamagoro Hommachi — Restaurant in Osaka

Ok, this is one of those places that may look a bit average at first (especially after seeing the Google rating) but that turns out to be an absolute gem. The place is amazing; the smokey flavor is surprising and to die for. One of the best ramen we ever had. Ordering is a bit complicated as the ticket machine doesn’t have an English option…but it is pretty straight forward. If uncertain, simply ask and the staff comes outside and explains the basics. Super easy.

As for payment option, the machine doesn’t take the typical main tier credit cards such as Amex but debit cards (even US based) work fine.

Now, you've tried all the pork bone broth ramen. What about fish broth ramen? Yes, this shop sells fish broth ramen , specifically bonito broth. This was unusual enough for me to want to try it.

The shop is your usual Japanese ramen shop set up, buy your tickets, get seated, hand the ticket to the chef behind the counter.

Now, what's special about this is that the soup stock is FULL of umami bonito and slightly fishy flavours. If you love fish, you will love this. Granted, it was very unique, but it was way too salty for my preference. And you do not get to select the richness of the soup...

The absolute best ramen I had on my trip to Japan (Out of the 7 different ramen places I tried). The pork was good, noodles were that perfect thickness, the broth tasted amazing.
