Birthday Celebration Spot: Osaka's Spanish Cuisine Gem, ETXO LX
By my reckoningBy my reckoning
This is our fifth hotel on this trip to Japan, and I would say it was our least favorite among the 4 and 5-star hotels. ☹️ I will compare this only with other 4-star hotels.(to be fair) Pros 1. Close to Hommachi Train Station: It's only a 3-minute walk, making it convenient for traveling through trains. 2. Alcohol Vending Machine: Available on the floor. 3. Close to Semba Shinsaibashisuji Shopping Street: Easy access to shopping. 4. Inexpensive (budget friendly hotel) Cons Breakfast: I recently stayed for three nights, and unfortunately, the breakfast experience was a disaster. Out of the three mornings, two were particularly bad. On the last day(June/18/2024), the situation was chaotic. There were not enough seats for guests, and we had to wait for an empty table. We arrived at 8:30 AM and finally got seated at 9:00 AM, with the last order being at 9:30 AM. By then, 18 people were waiting behind us. What frustrated me the most was the behavior of the staff. Two male employees were consistently rude and dismissive. When we asked them questions, they brushed us off and preferred to chat with other employees instead. a black-haired male staff member was incredibly rude when we handed him our breakfast coupons at the beginning(before waiting line disaster thing start) When I asked him nicely about the situation, he continued to chase us away. (And don’t tell us anything! Just order us to stay outside! Omg 😡) Additionally, A male guest who had stepped out to use the restroom faced unnecessary rudeness from an older white-haired staff member upon his return, despite his wife and kids still being at the table. The situation escalated, and the guest was told to stay outside. Then, this staff member turned to us and yelled for our coupons, which was unnecessary behavior. He stormed to the table, put the sign on, and walked away. (Other hotel staff usually tell you nicely that when you finish, just flip the sign so they can clean the table or just tell that “this is your table!”) I’m not sure what his problem was. I saw him on the first day breakfast too and he’s actually aggressively the same good thing haven’t encountered him otherwise would ruin the whole staying The only saving grace was one white-haired female staff member who was always polite and explained the situation to waiting guests. She always greet all the customers with smiles even in rush situations( those two should’ve learned from her) However, it didn't make up for the overall poor experience. When we left at 9:25 AM, there were still families waiting outside despite the last order being at 9:30 AM and closing at 10:00 AM. It would make more sense to extend the breakfast hours to accommodate all guests properly or expand your dining area! Dusty Room: The room was dusty (see the picture), which aggravated my allergies. Location: The hotel is too far from all the famous Osaka attractions. Be mindful that you will have to walk a lot, and there isn't much to do or see around the hotel. Elevator System: The hotel has two separate elevators. One goes from the ground to the lobby on the 16th floor, and then you have to walk to the other end to take another elevator to your room (rooms are on floors 5 to 15). This setup is inconvenient. Why is the lobby on the highest floor? If you just want a quick trip to the convenience store, you have to take the guest elevator UP to the 16th floor, walk to the other elevator, and then go DOWN from 16th to the ground floor. Staffs: Among all the 4-star hotels we've stayed in, this hotel's staff had the least proficiency in English. Not to be mean, but communication is important for a 4-star up hotel, even though I understand English isn't the first language for many (and I came from the country that English isn’t my first language too) but to work in the 4-star hotel this should be a requirement 5. AC system : The temperature range of the AC in the room is 20-35°C, and it’s central air conditioning like other hotels. However, the “20°C” setting was really hot during the summer day. I hope this review is helpful!

Service coming from a 4-star hotel is disappointing. They have modern looking interior and chic looking hotel lobby but unfortunately if you expecting basic service it is disappointing. Firstly, when I ask the receptionist if they have any bus limo services to get to the airport they tell me no they do not have such services , but they don't offer alternatives or advice you how to go about doing so to get to the airport. It ain't helpful for foreign tourist who is trying to get to kansai airport. Secondly , I feedback at night (after they fix their electricity) that the aircon isn't cold even after I set it at 20degree Celsius with three fan setting(max), the duty manager tell me that it's not home aircon and I have to monitor the situation. He could not speak English or understand English that he has to use google translator. Well for a hotel to not have English speaking staffs it's also weird when you recieve more foreigners tourists than local tourists in your hotel . In the end I have to open my windows to cool the room. Thirdly, they have many staff in the lobby but they don't help you with basic service. I was trying to weigh my 25kg luggage on their weighing scale and the male staff just pointed me to the scale but did not help to assist in lifting the luggage for me to their weighing scale until I requested so. Well 25kg is heavy for a lady. It was disappointing how the service is. Don't come with an expectation of having proper service. Lastly their check out timing is 11am and there was this male staff wearing blazer who barged into my room at 10:44am without knocking without checking assuming that no one was in the room. Lucky I put on the door lock if not it will be an awkward situation. I said you can come back 15mins or after 11am but he keep reminding me that I have to pay if I check out after at like 11am. It's rude to keep insisting on paying when your check out time is 11am and you barge in at 10:45am. Well apologizing does not help. Lastly location isn't fantastic, you can hear loud noise from sports cars and bikes zooming past at Night because of thr area has many showroom for sports cars like mclaren and ferrari. No nearby convenience store, have to walk 3 roads away to get to nearest convenience store I would not come back because of the service and location lacks restaurants and convenience store.

Hotel Review: A Perfect Stay in a Prime Location!I recently stayed at this hotel, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. Here’s why I highly recommend it:### 1. Prime Location (Very Hoon!)The hotel is situated in a fantastic location—right in the heart of the city, close to major attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas. Whether you're here for business or leisure, everything you need is just a short walk or drive away. The convenience of the location truly made my stay stress-free and enjoyable.### 2. Spotlessly CleanCleanliness is a top priority for me, and this hotel nailed it. From the lobby to the elevators, hallways, and especially the room, everything was immaculate. The housekeeping team does an excellent job maintaining high standards, and I felt completely comfortable throughout my stay.### 3. Spacious and Comfortable RoomsThe room was huge! I was pleasantly surprised by how much space I had—plenty of room to relax, work, and store my luggage without feeling cramped. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the linens were fresh and soft. The room also had a modern design with thoughtful touches like a cozy seating area, a large desk, and ample lighting.### 4. Excellent AmenitiesThe hotel offers a great range of amenities. I especially enjoyed the fitness center, which was well-equipped and clean. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which was a big plus for me as I needed to stay connected for work. Additionally, the hotel has a restaurant and bar on-site, serving delicious food and drinks—perfect for unwinding after a long day.### 5. Friendly and Professional StaffThe staff here are truly exceptional. From the moment I checked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. They were always willing to help, whether it was providing directions, recommending local attractions, or accommodating special requests. Their professionalism and hospitality made my stay even more enjoyable.### 6. Great Value for MoneyConsidering the location, cleanliness, room size, and amenities, this hotel offers excellent value for money. I felt like I got so much more than what I paid for, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.### Final ThoughtsIf you’re looking for a hotel that combines convenience, comfort, and cleanliness, this is the place to book. Whether you’re traveling for business or leisure, you’ll feel right at home here. I can’t...
