i stayed here for almost a month. i made a request weeks before my arrival to be put in a room away from the elevator and as high up as possible since im a light sleeper and i had to work est hours. when i walked into my room i could smell mold. it was even worse when i turned on the air conditioner. the first night there were bikers revving their bikes all night up and down the street. there was also a loud beeping noise from the crosswalk every few minutes all day and night. i even asked other guests and they all said the noise pollution was unpleasant. i complained about the mold smell and they said they would clean it. when i came back into the room it didnt smell, until i turned on the ac unit. when i looked at the ac unit, there was black mold. i kept waking up from the smell and my throat was itchy for the first week. also the fact that it smelled only after the ac was turned on told me that the drainage was blocked so there was stagnant water. i complained a few more times and explained that the inside of the ac unit needed to be cleaned. they said ok, but they clearly didnt. also because this building is not fully enclosed, each room needed to have a air vent to the outside. this causes a few problems. the filter was moldy, the air being circulated is. constantly humid, so no matter how hard the ac unit worked it would never dehumidify the room, and if the room isnt in use then the whole hvac system just gets moldy. after complaining they moved me to another room. same issue with the ac unit and air vent filter being moldy. at least the outside noise was minimal. they also had this weird mandatory thing where they had to clean the room every 3 days even if i didnt have the "clean the room" sign on the door. as a result of asking to have the ac unit and vents cleaned they scheduled my toom to be cleaned twice as often, so two days in a row, then one day before another two consecutive day clean. when the room cleaning team knocked on my door i said i was still sleeping or was still in the room. they kept knocking on my door constantly until i got angry and was yelling which at that point i got a call from the front desk. this happened two more times even after i told them to cancel the second consecutive cleaning. one day i was still trying to sleep in when i after i asked to have the second cleaning cancelled, but they still asked to clean it so i slept on the couch in their pool area on the 3rd floor until they finished. no communication between the teams. the location is great, but the noise pollution is horrible. the front desk staff tries their best to accommodate, but other than moving rooms cant get anything fixed. the room cleaning staff are really annoying and persistent about cleaning the room. the buffet and spa are great. unfortunately i would never stay here again and would never recommend this apa location. now i see why this location was priced lower than the other apa hotels...
Read moreAfter enjoying my lovely stay at this APA hotel, my last night unfortunately ended with my clothes being tossed out by housekeeping. My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights due to its convenience in location and amenities. However, we did find the rooms smaller than expected although it wasn’t too big of an issue for us. With that being said, we had our room cleaned up each night with no issue until the second to last night. I had a cloth bag holding my dirty clothes that been kept on the floor. After a long day, I came back to my hotel to find that it was missing. Now let me remind you, due to the small room size, luggage is asked to be stored under the bed and there is a sign that states “The hotel ONLY collects garbage from trash cans to avoid collecting guests’ personal items accidentally.” as well as “If your belongings are spread out, we may not clean the room.” Those statements were not true from my experience since my bag of clothes was missing. However, all of our valuables were still in the room, so, I assume it was an honest mistake on the housekeeping side to have possibly took my bag as garbage (although it was not a garbage bag). When I went to inform and ask the front desk about the issue they told me that they would check the garbages and ask the housekeeper manager the next morning. The next morning arrived and when I went to speak to the front desk again, they told me the housekeeper did not touch the bag. After going back in fourth with the front desk associate on Google translate (due to the language barrier) nothing was done nor did the hotel take responsibility. I requested multiple times to ask to speak with a manager and every time he would go in the back and return to only tell me that the manager was not willing to speak with me. The front desk associate kept telling me there’s nothing they can do for me and that I should just contact the police. Contacting the police will do absolutely nothing to solve the issue. I don’t mind as much as for the bag being accidentally thrown away, but more so the fact that there was no accountability taken. I was still staying at the hotel for another night and didn’t take my bag out of the room nor had no reason to have taken any luggage/bags out of my room. Additionally, the front desk was no help, not apologetic, nor compassionate in trying to help resolve it. The manager would not come out to speak with me after multiple times of trying to request for their presents. You can see my frustration on this issue. I will definitely not being staying at any APA hotels in the future or recommend this hotel to...
Read moreStayed here on Nov.2-8. Their check in and express check out is very efficient. They have a same day or serveral hours luggage/bag storage where you scan QR code to register and screen capture it, leave your bag with the staff, then come back and show that QR code to retrieve your bag. Staff can speak English, has a service mind, and is very helpful. This brangh has over 30 floors and the ice machine, microwave is available on the 12th floor and the 30th floor, if I remembered correctly. There is a family mart that opens 24 hours here, and exit 18 of the metro train red line directly connects to the hotel. They have a system where the maid cleans your room every 3rd day, but I'm not sure why or if they will change the bedsheet for you. The room that I got was on the 19th floor and the bed was comfortable but it was somewhat slanted in the middle so I think our bed was abnormal compare to our friend's room on the 20th floor whose bed was normal. Our phone in the room was not connected so we could not use it to contact the lobby. The fridge has a separate power button and freezes food very well. It made my water turn into a slurpy drink when I turn the dial to 5 so that was amazing. The TV screen is huge and all the info you need is in there. There is a spa public bath available for guests of the hotel which was amazing. The toilet is small but clean and well design. Even if it is small, you still have a bathtub available in your room! You can drink water from the tab in your bathroom, it is clean and safe. Hair dryer and other stuff is accessible in the drawer under your desk. I would definitely use APA Hotel and visit their other branches as well on my next visit because it is so well designed, compacted and efficient and convenient to stay here. Oh, they also have coin washing machine and dryer. The only drawback is that near check in or check out time you have to plan your timing because everyone will be using the elevator and if you do not plan properly, it will be a long wait before you can get yourself downstairs to put the room key card in the express checkout box. If you are late, there could be additional charges...
