There had been prior email communication regarding the room types because the booking system didn’t allow separate room types to be selected. We decided to extend our stay, resulting in two separate bookings: for the first half of the stay, we booked two larger rooms, while for the second half, only smaller rooms were available. The staff member we contacted via email was very helpful and offered us one large room and one small room without mentioning any additional charges. Since the hotel provided us with the SAME number of rooms for the SAME duration, we didn’t expect any issues.
However, upon arrival, there was NO record of the prior communication. We showed the emails, but the staff didn’t pay attention and we had to explain everything again. After a long wait, they informed us that since the two bookings were for different room types, they needed to upgrade one room and downgrade the other. While they charged an additional 500 yen per room per day for the upgrade, they didn’t refund anything for the downgraded room, even though the total number of rooms and the length of stay remained unchanged. I might have accepted it if this situation and the extra charge had happened without prior communication with the hotel. However, we had already reached an agreement, yet it wasn’t recorded.

Read moreLub D Osaka Hommachi is a Thai brand hotel with a good price and very convenient to travel. It is located in the Hommachi area, not far from Namba and Shinsaibashi. You can walk to the Glico statue landmark and it is very close to the subway, just a 5-minute walk. Around the hotel is a shopping area, food, 7-11, Family Mart. The hotel staff can speak Thai. There are fun activities in the hotel, such as when we went, we had to spin a wheel to win prizes. The room we stayed in was a twin bed room, which was a good size. We stayed for 2 people, so there was enough space to manage each person's luggage at the same time. The facilities are complete. The room is clean. The bathroom has a bathtub. When we stayed there, we encountered one problem. One day, the bathtub's pipe system seemed to have a problem, causing the water to not drain down, but to remain in the tub. When we turned on the faucet to wash our hands, the water that flowed down pushed the water remaining in the tub up continuously. When we encountered the problem, it was very late at night, so we could only report the problem in the morning, and the staff immediately accepted the repair. Overall, the atmosphere of staying here is considered good. The location is good, convenient to travel, the staff is kind, and I was impressed by...
Read moreThe Good: 1. Prime Location – The hotel is in a fantastic spot, within walking distance to Namba and several popular ramen places like Mugen Ramen. There’s also a large supermarket nearby, adding extra convenience. 2. Spacious Rooms – The room size is impressive compared to other chains like APA, offering more comfort and space. 3. Helpful Staff – The ground staff were very accommodating and spoke fluent English, which made our stay much easier. The Not So Good: 1. Poor Internet Speed – The Wi-Fi connection was unreliable, making it impossible to attend online meetings or do any substantial work. I had to rely on mobile data for my work calls. The network became particularly slow late at night (around 10 pm to 1 am), making even basic tasks like sending WhatsApp messages difficult. 2. Low Bathroom Ceiling – The bathroom ceiling is quite low, so if you’re taller than 187cm, you might struggle to stand up straight while showering. 3. Noisy and Untidy Lobby at Night – The lobby area gets noisy and messy in the evening, though this seems to be due to some of the guests rather than an issue with the...
