There had been prior email communication regarding the room types because the booking system didn’t allow separate room types to be selected. We decided to extend our stay, resulting in two separate bookings: for the first half of the stay, we booked two larger rooms, while for the second half, only smaller rooms were available. The staff member we contacted via email was very helpful and offered us one large room and one small room without mentioning any additional charges. Since the hotel provided us with the SAME number of rooms for the SAME duration, we didn’t expect any issues.

However, upon arrival, there was NO record of the prior communication. We showed the emails, but the staff didn’t pay attention and we had to explain everything again. After a long wait, they informed us that since the two bookings were for different room types, they needed to upgrade one room and downgrade the other. While they charged an additional 500 yen per room per day for the upgrade, they didn’t refund anything for the downgraded room, even though the total number of rooms and the length of stay remained unchanged. I might have accepted it if this situation and the extra charge had happened without prior communication with the hotel. However, we had already reached an agreement, yet it wasn’t recorded.

The room was stinky. Not...

Lub D Osaka Hommachi is a Thai brand hotel with a good price and very convenient to travel. It is located in the Hommachi area, not far from Namba and Shinsaibashi. You can walk to the Glico statue landmark and it is very close to the subway, just a 5-minute walk. Around the hotel is a shopping area, food, 7-11, Family Mart. The hotel staff can speak Thai. There are fun activities in the hotel, such as when we went, we had to spin a wheel to win prizes. The room we stayed in was a twin bed room, which was a good size. We stayed for 2 people, so there was enough space to manage each person's luggage at the same time. The facilities are complete. The room is clean. The bathroom has a bathtub. When we stayed there, we encountered one problem. One day, the bathtub's pipe system seemed to have a problem, causing the water to not drain down, but to remain in the tub. When we turned on the faucet to wash our hands, the water that flowed down pushed the water remaining in the tub up continuously. When we encountered the problem, it was very late at night, so we could only report the problem in the morning, and the staff immediately accepted the repair. Overall, the atmosphere of staying here is considered good. The location is good, convenient to travel, the staff is kind, and I was impressed by...

The Good: 1. Prime Location – The hotel is in a fantastic spot, within walking distance to Namba and several popular ramen places like Mugen Ramen. There’s also a large supermarket nearby, adding extra convenience. 2. Spacious Rooms – The room size is impressive compared to other chains like APA, offering more comfort and space. 3. Helpful Staff – The ground staff were very accommodating and spoke fluent English, which made our stay much easier. The Not So Good: 1. Poor Internet Speed – The Wi-Fi connection was unreliable, making it impossible to attend online meetings or do any substantial work. I had to rely on mobile data for my work calls. The network became particularly slow late at night (around 10 pm to 1 am), making even basic tasks like sending WhatsApp messages difficult. 2. Low Bathroom Ceiling – The bathroom ceiling is quite low, so if you’re taller than 187cm, you might struggle to stand up straight while showering. 3. Noisy and Untidy Lobby at Night – The lobby area gets noisy and messy in the evening, though this seems to be due to some of the guests rather than an issue with the...

I stayed here with my girlfriend for 1 night and I am glad it was only for one night. The good - The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even by Japan standard. - I really enjoyed the bold and fun design in the hotel. The okay - The room was very small but we only had 2 cabin bags so it was doable. - The location was close to Hommachi station The bad - The room was very dirty. It was so dusty, and had lots of questionable spots on the floor and curtains. It really sets the mood when the first thing you see when you enter the room is a bright red spot resembling blood on the floor. - I am 179cm tall and if you are much taller than that you would probably hit your head on the ceiling in the bathroom. It was very claustrophobic. I have been to more than 10 different hotels in Japan and never experienced such low ceiling in the bathroom before. - The internet was useless. Probably the worst WiFi I have expereienced in a hotel. Ever.

Lub D Honmachi was my favorite stay during my travels. I had the pleasure to stay at this brand new Lub D on 2 separate occasions for a total stay of 14 nights in September/October. I am no stranger to Lub D and their other properties, though I must say this is their best location and property thus far. (That says a lot as Lub D is known for outstanding properties) - The staff was beyond accommodating and always eager to help with a smile. I really got to know them during my stay and I want to say thanks to Kozo, Max, Mio, Suzuki, Oui, Meidi, Aya, Clarissa. I hope I didn’t forget anyone! Their genuine love and excitement for Japan, also added a special touch to my experience. The rooms were not only comfortable but also well appointed. Check-in was a breeze, and the service throughout my stay was absolutely incredible. The property was always clean alongside great room service. I can’t wait to return when I’m in Osaka.
