Royal Host Higashitenma — Restaurant in Osaka

Came back from a long trip from Uji and decide to have dinner here around 10pm.

I ordered their special black x black hamburg steak meal and the yogurt ice cream sundae. I was thoroughly surprised with the hamburg steak as it was so soft and juicy even though it was well done on the inside which is a testament to the quality of the Japanese black beef brand. The egg was cooked perfectly although I wished there were more fries. The yogurt ice-cream parfait was delicious, refreshing and not overly sweet with the quality berry and vanilla ice-cream and fruits under topped with yogurt sauce. I got the 250g hamburg steak which cost around 1800 yen while the sundae came up to around 800 yen.

I decided to come back on my last day for breakfast and ordered the Japanese style breakfast. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and flavor of the breakfast spread. The salmon was well seasoned, egg cooked well as expected and the miso was good. Breakfast came up to under 800 yen which is a steal.

Don’t let the stigma of family restaurant discourage you from trying...

We ate here on our trip around Japan after a late day. We were served by Ito, who was extremely punctual. He spoke limited English, to be expected, but was very quick, efficient, and friendly towards us. The food was brought out quickly, hot, and was delicious. Ito did such a good job that we were sad that Japan isn't a tipping culture like it is...

A little bit expensive, in special the desserts, but it tasted really good. The staff was friendly and fast. Had a little waiting time at the desserts but everything else was quickly done. The portions could be a little bigger. A really good experience were the fries with a housemade mayonnaise (with a little bit wasabi in it?)...
