YUMMY PORK alert!
There is a queue, and there is menu to reference first while waiting. I waited 15 mins to have my seat by the bar.
At this time I have ordered the Tonteki set with Kappa soup, ¥1530. If no soup then is ¥1280. (May 2025)
Food arriving within 5 mins. There is a big big big big chunk of pork chop, grilled or pan fried tofu skin color, with Worcester sauce, a big egg omelet and a chunk of cabbage as salad. A huge rice bowl, but it’s not full inside, and my soup of kappa, I thought it is clam but it is beef with tofu soup.
I use the knife to cut the pork and egg, then placing rice on to my rice bowl, (it serves 2 bowl) and start eating.
The pork is so juicy inside I wonder if it is fully cooked as it is still reddish color. And omelet is good, cabbage is good. They goes so well with rice, I ate another bowl of rice and emptying the big bowl.
And after two bowl of rice I still have some pork and omelet left, so I asked the nice lady for a refill of rice, which is free of charge.
So I ate a third bowl of rice, and finishing the food, and then the soup, and then a glass of ice water to wash them all down into my stomach.
(It has been 3 hours after eating and I am still incredibly full)
This is such a great experience, I love the food, and the portion is very affordable for this price in Osaka.
The only only disadvantage of the restaurant I would say the after meal stink on my clothes as the restaurant ventilation wasn’t very good, and the half open kitchen cooking the pork is making the whole place smells so good yet leave...

Its fame is well-deserved; the experience was memorable. I had heard about their signature Tonteki, and it certainly lived up to the hype. The meat was tender, juicy, and the Worcestershire sauce added a perfect tanginess that enhanced the flavor.
I also tried their Omelet and Dashimaki, both of which were exceptionally well-prepared, fluffy, and rich in flavor. The Beef Cutlet was another standout dish, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, making each bite a delightful experience.
The restaurant’s location in the office area makes it a popular spot for lunch among professionals, contributing to its constant full house. Despite the crowd, the service was efficient, and the staff managed to maintain a welcoming and attentive atmosphere.
This dining gem in Honmachi offers a perfect blend of quality, taste, and atmosphere, making it a must-visit for anyone in Osaka. Whether it's for a quick lunch or a leisurely meal, this place is sure to impress with its delicious offerings and...
Read moreWe were extremely disappointed with the hostess, who was the same person who welcomed us and handled our payment at the end. This made our experience quite unpleasant and uncomfortable, as she greeted us poorly and clearly didn’t want to speak with us. It wouldn’t have been an issue if she didn’t speak English, but her gestures were disrespectful—she even rolled her eyes at us. From the very beginning, we probably should have left, but we still decided to give it a try and overlook it.
I can confirm that the atmosphere is friendly, very local, and with few tourists, which we actually appreciated as visitors. The service from the other staff members was excellent—they were smiling and very kind, with nothing negative to say about them. The food was fine, but this woman’s extremely unpleasant and condescending behavior really ruined the experience, especially at the end, when she was downright...
