BOTANI:CURRY — Restaurant in Osaka

Located in an alley amidst the business district of Honmachi, Botani Curry is a popular spice Curry shop. The menu is simple with three types of curries to choose from: Botani (their signature chicken based broth with three types of chicken or beef keema), Shrimp or Pollo (fish based broth with chicken and coconut milk). You can choose your spice levels (50yen per level) and add extra toppings such as pickled eggs and cream cheese tofu. The colorful and unique mix of flavors will leave you satisfied.

It is extremely rare for me to give 1 star ratings to restaurants, but I feel compelled to do it for this one. We went to this restaurant chain 3 times, but we were disappointed all 3 times. Twice we went to the Hankyu location - first day at 5:30 pm and another day at 4:00 pm, when they were supposed to be open until 10 pm - but both times they were SOLD OUT many hours before their closing times. So we tried their other location - going there 30 minutes before opening time to be first in line - but it turned out they were not going to open at all, despite a sign that says they open at 11:00 am, because we waited 30 minutes...

We tried twice to eat here, and both times they were either sold out (we arrived around 3pm on a Friday) or closed without any prior notice (we attempted to come back the next day, at 11am on Saturday). Absolutely no communication on their Twitter saying that they would be closed - we made sure to check the same day. We saw a hand written note on the door, but it did not say they were closed. Since we are visiting Japan on a limited time, it was deeply disappointing and a complete waste of our time. There's nothing else to do around the...
