I recently had the pleasure of trying sushi from Washoku Ganko-zushi and I must say it was excellent. I ordered takeaway sashimi twice and both times the sushi was freshly prepared and handed to me in a beautiful wooden box. The quality of the fish was top notch and it tasted delicious! One thing I really appreciated was the attention to detail. The sashimi was cleverly arranged on the plate and the wooden box definitely added to the elegance of the dish. They really know how important aesthetics are when preparing sushi. The quality of the fish is also important. The sashimi was extremely fresh and had a great texture. The flavours were well balanced and the sushi was not too fishy. You can tell that a lot of attention is paid to the choice of ingredients here. The option of personal pick-up was also very convenient. The sushi arrived fresh and still tasted good, although I didn't eat it immediately. It's nice to be able to enjoy sushi from a restaurant in the comfort of your hotel room. All in all, I would recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for quality sushi with great taste and presentation. The ability to order sushi to go allows customers to enjoy sushi whenever they want and the attention to detail and quality ingredients make it a great choice for a special occasion or treat....
Read moreStarted out having to wait 25 min just to order after being seated. People seated same time as us ordered, got their food and finished eating before we even ordered. 2 sukiyakis came out 10 min later, we had to flag the waiter down 4 times to get the grilled meat set and sashimi set. He told us we had to wait another 20 min. He seemed confused about our order. Tried to give us another order of sukiyaki but we told him that was wrong, we ordered the grilled meat. He finally came out with the right set but then we had to flag him down twice to light the fire to cook the meat. And we still were waiting for another set meal that we asked about also. He then tried to give us an unagi meal set and we told him that was wrong, we ordered sashimi, soba and tempura set. I understand that we didnt order in japanese but we pointed to what we wanted on the menu several times. It was busy when we came in but half the restaurant had finished and left and we still had not received the last 2 meals. Very disappointing meal. Not cheap either for the cuts of meat for the grilled meat and also sashimi quality was not great (stringy cuts in the maguro and very small pieces). Never...
Read moreWe wanted something hot to combat the sudden drop in temperature in Osaka and stumbled upon this restaurant. Although there was no English menu, it was available on the provided tablet, making it easy for us to order Pork Shabu-Shabu and additional pork.
Plates and bowls were not provided except for the ones with dipping sauce. But we needed them for the vegetables we scooped up from the hotpot. Initially puzzled, we noticed other diners had plates/bowls and asked a waitstaff, who had difficulty understanding. She gestured for us to eat directly from the hot pot, but it would be too hot to eat. Eventually, she understood and gave us empty bowls.
We also learned not to ask for a green tea refill but to order it again from the tablet, because the waitstaff ignored us when we asked for it. In the end, we had a total of 8 empty glasses on the table! Haha.
Overall, I enjoyed the Shabu-Shabu, even though it strangely didn't come with rice. At about S$20 per person, I think the price is okay. I still wish there...
