小樽美食坊大連食堂 — Restaurant in Otaru

It's been tricky to find vegetarian/vegan options with an authentic feel (for good reason) so it was quite delightful to be able to have a vegan chickpea ramen option here. My parents really enjoyed the taste, and it was a delicious experience in the midst of a long summer walk. The owner is doing a hella fine job managing everything on his own! 💪 We had a tonkatsu shoyu and also a spicy miso ramen (also a beef udon but I didn't manage to get a picture) and I'm so glad we stopped by on our way to Otaru Canal. The noodle doneness was perfect, and the soups were so comforting and made with love. I would say this is one of the best ramen I've had across Japan and highly recommend taking a trip down if you can! Had the spicy miso ramen, miso butter corn ramen and dumplings. The miso soup was so rich and comforting, springy noodles and pork was tender. Dumplings were amazing too, skin was thin and filling was yummy.

The miso butter corn ramen had a lighter flavour than the spicy miso, but was equally delicious.
