North Sea roasted baked canal warehouse — Restaurant in Otaru

We were excited to see charcoal grill and ordered our crab platter. But we were both so so disappointed. Cant believe they serve us frozen seafood in a land that’s aplenty of fresh from the sea catches. The restaurant was mostly empty when we came in but they took a long time to bring our crab platter out… I jokingly said maybe they are defrosting that’s why take so long… And true enough … when the waitress brought it out she said it’s to be eaten as is cox it’s been pre boiled. (ehhh what happened to the grill?) we dug in anyway cox fresh crab should taste good anyway …but but but the hairy crab had no sea freshness nor sweetness, meat was flaky n some parts still can taste the ice. I ate a claw n left the rest untouched. The king crab claws we had only one n didn’t bother to finish the rest. Same no sea umami freshness… taste of frozen defrosted pre boiled … So so disappointed . We fed back to the waiter who seemed clueless and the cashier when we paid … she seems clueless too.

Very upset with this place. They charge us for this Otoshi which I didn’t want and kindly asked for French fries instead and was denied. My wife ate it and got some serious food poisoning. The fact of the matter is that they use this Otoshi and probably use food that isn’t fresh. Now my wife is suffering because they charged us for something we didn’t want to eat. I’m extremely upset and now my wife has to suffer for this Otoshi. Which in America is against the law to charge a person who doesn’t want the item or refuses it. I’m seriously considering on getting a lawyer so the next person doesn’t...

the place is spacious and very clean. very friendly service. every table provided charcoal bbq. I ordered a rice bowl and fried octopus. The seafood served for this ricebowl topping is really fresh. plus soft-boiled egg and miso soup included in the ricebowl package.
