contrary to a lot of reviews here claiming the owners were not welcoming of foreigners, I had a totally different experience. firstly, the chef though don't smile much (oh come on, he's a chef. not a hostess), he actually suggested to us to reduce one bowl as 3 bowls of ramen may be too much for my 3 kids age 5, 9 and 10. We appreciate that and he offered to refund the money for that extra bowl. he also checked in with us on our "spice experience" so he can decide on the spiciness.

the chef was focusing a lot on the preparation and it was probably one of the best ramen I had. the corns were beautifully torched and soup base were just right. the lady (whom I assumed to be the lady of the house) was very friendly and kept coming back to us to make everything is alright. after our meal, she even gave each of my 3 kids a lollipop.

it is an unassuming and low key eatery so don't expect service of a professional standard but you will get professional standard of food.

prices are very affordable. JPY1000 for a miso ramen and JPY1,300 for the super spicy.

will certainly...

WARNING!!! If you do not want to lose your good impression about Japan, DO NOT STEP IN this shop.

Rude owner. We already ordered 4 dishes and the owner said all adults had to order, I was too full and not really like noodles, so I just walked out from the shop to wait for others to finish their meal.

The owner was mad and complained. Return money and angrily told other members to leave. I have been travelling for whole my life to many countries. This was the rudest restaurant I met in my life. I have been in Japan since I was very young because my mother is a Japanese. I can guarantee he is the worst and unfriendly even...

The ramen was great. Try the miso ramen with butter and corn. The soup was very nice and it mix well with the butter. One of the best I tried in otaru.

The place is real small. It can only house about 5-6 adults. So u gotta queue most of the time. Suggest if u see a few pax went in before u, u can go else where if u don’t like to queue for long. Imaging u gotta wait for them to order, uncle to cook and them finish eating. It is a long wait.

U place your order at the ticket machine on the right when u enter...

Situated right opposite the most famous tourist attraction in Sapporo, you could find this little ramen izakaya in a very tight tourist spot where there are only 6 seats in it. This little ramen izakaya surprised me even with its limited menu. I must say I had one of the most delicious inconspicuous ramen in Sapporo. It is a one-man show business, but contrary to what others had commented, the chef is friendly. Highly recommended!
