There were 12 cats in the 1st floor café that I went to.

I came here because I like cats and I was hoping that this would be one of the highlights of my trip but it was marred by an overly sensitive staff. Apparently, she did not like one of the questions I asked about their cats, and she wasted no time in criticizing me indirectly when one of the regulars happened to come in after me.

Well, apparently, she thought that my standard of Japanese was not good enough, and I wouldn't be able to understand her implications. Unfortunately, I DO. She said in a strident voice that was loud enough for everyone to hear that this regular is a very kind and gentle customer, implying that I was not from the questions I asked. And she repeated herself emphatically a few times. Yada yada. What a bummer.

She has closely cropped hair and wears glasses and looks to be about 50 years plus. So if you see her inside the café, do not ask her any questions. Ask someone...

Slightly weird with their rules and procedures. Didn't like that we were forced to sanitize our hands 3 times plus wash 2 times. My hands were really raw afterwards. The main cat room is incredibly small, perhaps 10-15 sqm (looks bigger on pictures). Around 2 PM most cats were sleeping, but at least they didn't seem drugged like so many other cat cafés do. The staff inside the cat room genuinely seemed to care about the cats and played with/pet cats as well. The special room with a "cat god enshrined" is very expensive (~2000 yen/30 minutes?), so we didn't check that out. There's an even more expensive private room (over 5000 yen) as well. The smallest room seemed a bit awkward to hang out in, so we left after less than 30 minutes. Concept-wise I really like that they have only rescue cats. Overall would recommend this for...

Although the owners didn't speak a lot of English, they were very accommodating and tried their best to communicate with me, which I appreciated a lot. Very polite and welcoming!

This was the first time going to a cat cafe for me and I loved it. The lady in the cat enclosure was very patient and conversed with me via translation app on my phone.
