"Found" this place on Google maps when we were standing right in front of the door... seriously: we've just put our clothes in the laundry next door and wanted to get some food while waiting. We were greeted friendly at the front counter, led to a table, and got our obligatory water. Tables are inside private niches fitting 4-6 people. Staff understood/ spoke englisch sufficiently to take orders and help with the menu, which was printed only in japanese, but easily translated with Google Translate. Basically, they have a few super tasty curries (choose vegetarian, different meats or fish), beef soup with different toppings, and rice as side (order extra!). Choose from 10 levels of spicyness (7 is the local adult standard, which I recommend, though I do confess I like it spicy). We had two great curries full of super tasty and tender meat, fresh vegetables (pumpkin, eggplant, cale, carrots, lotus root, potatoe), two medium seasoned rice , a coke, and paid 2960¥... In Europe, we'd have paid at least 3 to 4 times for this much food and never would have gotten THIS quality. We highly recommend this place and will be back when in...

The store is cash only and We had only credit card and did not have cash left and I rushed to convenience store for cash. The manager's attitude was remarkably "impolite" from the time he knew that we were out of cash. He seemed to not understand a foreigner trying to pay only with card, and face expression showed that "I am not obliged to kindly explain where to get cash. When we came back, I was mistaken and paid less cash then needed. I know he may have felt annoyed, but I am bewildered and mistakes can happen. It was my mistake but did the manager have to be so rude??!! When I handed the cash close to him with right amount, he strongly pointed out with one hand twice, showing he is bothered, the cash putting spot. It was apparently behavior of looking down on me. I am foreigner and not accustomed to the cash only obsession of yours. I am not saying to be friendly to foreigner. But don't you be rude to a foreigner who do not know...
Read moreI’m not a big fan of Japanese curry. I came to Hokkaido for a weekend and this place was located right below my airBnB. I went for a weekday lunch and I could see from the crowd that the place is quite popular among the locals. I didn’t need a reservation nor did I need to wait. The menu is Japanese and I ordered the chicken curry soup with mushrooms and fried eggs as add-on. The rice quantity I chose was small. U can choose between a spice level of 1 to 10 and I choose 7. The service was fast. The quantity is huge and you will be totally full by the end of the meal. The spice was just right for my pallet. I would say that this variant of Japanese soup curry is something I liked much more than the standard Japanese curry you find in other parts of Japan. If you visit Hokkaido, you should try this once.
Pro tip- unless you are super hungry, the small portion of rice is more than enough for 1 person. If you belong to a spice eating country, you can comfortably choose between spice...
