This place always has a queue. Always. It’s a matter whether it’s a short queue or a long queue or a crazy long queue. We decided to queue for it after always seeing a persistent queue whenever we were walking back to our hotel. We noticed people were already queuing before opening hours. We queued for more than 2 hours on a weekend evening. Everyone else in the queue appeared to be local or a domestic tourist. They have an English menu. Payment by cash only. Everything moves very efficiently as you’re given a menu and your order is taken once you’re closer to getting a seat. Once we were seated, we got our food within 5 mins or so. A PSA for tourists, there are signs indicating to clear your used wet towels and tissues in the bins close by, then place your empty bowls/plates onto the top of the counter. This helps the staff with the cleaning and clearing of tables for the next batch of customers. Just watch and follow what the others are doing. Overall, the best miso ramen we’ve had in Sapporo (we’ve already had 3 others). Prices affordable, portions generous. I got a half-share because the standard size was way too much. Add an extra topping of butter for an extra depth of flavour as it somehow makes the broth richer. I dare say, it was worth the queue. Although I can’t imagine queuing in the afternoon summer heat or in the snow during winter.

Amazing ramen in a humble shop that sits about 12. We visited this place in early May at 9.30pm (8°C) and found a rather long queue of customers (more locals than tourists). Turnover was pretty fast and we only waited for ~30 minutes despite having about 30+ people ahead of us. Staffs were super friendly and able to communicate using simple English. You will also be presented with a Japanese + English menu once you enter the store. We had the best-selling Shinshu (rich miso) and Tosa (mild salt flavour) ramen. What we really like about the place is that it has the option for "half-size ramen" and this allowed us to also try the fried rice and gyoza. Despite being "half-size", the ramen came in rather generous portion (almost like a typical standard serving in Singapore), and THEY WERE SO GOOD. Shinshu was particularly amazing and definitely a must-try. The fried rice and gyoza were not bad, but not a must. The bill came to JPY2060 in total for 2 half-sized ramen, a bowl of fried rice, a set of gyoza (5 pieces) and a bottle of orange juice (200ml). Insanely cheap for such a satisfying meal in my opinion. Half-sized ramen costs JPY540 per bowl while full size ramen costs JPY760 per bowl. Ramen Shingen operates until 1am so in case you are in the mood for some late-night ramen, this is the place to go

We enjoyed our ramen here. Price for bowl is 880 to 1250 yen. The bowl is pretty large. I got the spicy miso with chashu (plus an egg) and my husband got the tasty miso with kakuni and chashu. Both broths were pretty good. Spicy has spice but is not too spicy for those that generally eat spicy. The broths felt heavy for both of us by the end but not throughout most of the meal (which is good in our opinions). The kakuni was also pretty flavorful. The line starts with the seating inside along the wall and continues outside around the corner. They take your order when you’re sitting inside and so your bowl comes shortly after you sit. Everything is in Japanese but they also have an English menu floating around. Payment with cash or card (via PayPay App). We arrived shortly after 5pm and the line had only formed inside. As soon as we arrived, 4 others got in line right before us and shortly after, a bunch more behind us. We didn’t keep track of time but guessing we waited about half an hour? Overall, could have done without the egg.. and one of us should have gotten a half size. We were both very full. My husband wanted to come back here the next day.

This place is popular with both tourists and locals, so expect a long queue. The ramen I had is rich miso, the flavor is rich, but can be a little bit salty to some people, if you're not used to salty food, then I suggest you get the light version. Both the rich broth and chewy noodles blended really well to create such a flavorful dish. There's only one portion and it's enough to fill you, but you can get additional noodles if you want more; Additionally, there is a half sized portion but I don't know what soup based would it be. Gyoza is also good but ours lack the crisp a little. The fried rice is similar to smoky teppan style fried rice, taste is peppery, it's good but not the best. The place is small, probably can only fit 12 people the most and the seats are all by the counter. The service is amazing because they are quick to serve and even take your orders while you're queuing. Since it's popular to tourists, they have English menu available. Overall, it's one of the spots you should visit during your stay in Sapporo, and since they are open until midnight, feel free to adjust your schedule accordingly.

So you wait outside for a bit, then they guide you into a room beside the restaurant to wait another hour or so, then you wait inside the kitchen to be seated. Waiting to wait for another wait. 2 hours on a non busy day. But guess what? As a ramen lover, this miso ramen blew my mind. The spicy one isn't as good as the default "tasty miso", not even close. I love spicy everything but that default miso is to die for. Tonkotsu has taken over the ramen game for a while now, but this default miso is a different level. I wanted to drink the whole bowl of soup but when you travel to Japan you have to skip out on extras like that so you don't return home as a whale. Spicy miso - 7/10 (I wouldn't order this again, it was bland to begin with and when I tried my partner's default miso, I didn't even want to eat this anymore.) Default tasty miso - 10/10 Gyoza - 6/10 (No crunchy strip, barely crispy) I'd come back and order 2 bowls of the default tasty miso ramen. I was about to quit when I realized there's a queue for a queue for a queue but I'm glad I didn't as this just elevated my taste buds.

Long queue before i joined in and even after i finished and left at 9pm+ Waited more than 30 mins freezing outside in the cold but definitely worth it. Chose the shinken? (flavorful miso) and added charsiu and braised pork. NO REGRETS even though i was super full after that. Added a plate of gyoza too. Soup was very savoury as expected of a miso base, even the char siu and braised pork was superb. However this powerful pack made the gyoza lackluster and could barely taste it. Lots of people ordered a fried rice to share but unfortunately i went alone and could not eat so much. Do not get the half size ramen because it was that awesome. U dont want to queue that long for half portion!! They take ur order when u are in the queue inside the restaurant and ur dish/es are quickly served when u are seated. Despite the fast turnover of customers the queue is perpetual. What makes it even better is that it makes u feel warm and satisfied despite the harsh cold winds. Oh not to mention the price, 1350 Yen for ramen with char siu and braised pork toppings? Say no more!
