Taj Mahal — Restaurant in Sapporo

Tried this wonderful Indian restaurant. Located in beautiful Sapporo Factory mall at floor B1, this place is quite near to Sapporo TV tower.

Ambience: Place is wonderfully done and you can see the effort put in by the owner. Mughal/Rajasthan theme is well highlighted. Place is quite big with a large number of tables. Lighting is slight on dimmer side but goes with the theme. You notice small things like Taj Mahal engraved on even sugar pot, beautiful lamps and even bead curtains showing silhouettes of Shahjahan and Mumtaz Mahal.

The food: we ordered butter chicken, Palace paneer, mashroom.paneer, naan and masala tea. All.items were excellent and very well presented. Butter chicken was smooth n nice, chicken pieces missed the smoky flavour but overall it was quite nice. Palak paneer was also v good with paneer slightly fried to give better taste and lastly mutter mushroom also lived up to expectations. Naans were really large and well done. Tea was nice n aromatic. Lunch for 4 costed us 6600 Yen (66 SGD) which is quite reasonable considering quality of food and service.

Service: Service was amazing, quick and considerate. Owner Mr Ashok himself chatted up with us explaining he is running food business for 40 years. He informed that they have many other outlets as well. All the staff was very friendly and quick to respond.

It is very tasty indian curry you'll get here! I visited this indian curry restaurant many times. Employee are Japanese and Indian both. So you can use English and Japanese both. The menu has English too. This restaurant has curry menus and something like combination menu. Naan are many types. Plane nanny, cheese naan and butter naan and more! The cheese naan is amazingly tasty! I recommend cheese naan and chicken curry. Also you can order kebabs. They have appetizer mene and drinks. This restaurant is no smoking place. That's really good! The service provided by Mr Raza at Sapporo factory outlet was terrible. I am a vegetarian and I ask him what they have . He just told me to see the tab at the table. As I check the tab it doesn’t not have a selection on vegetarian itself. I got to get another service person to guide me.
