I don't usually write comments that way but it's better to share that really bad experience
First we had to wait for about 5-7 minutes even though there are available tables. Went in for the vegetable set and craft beers of their menus (no English menu to be found also), when we order they say that they don't have the vegetable set (and many other things) and they only had 4-6 (so half of their choices we couldn't take) choices which includes the two most expensive ones.
We then want to order the 2 craft beer from their menu but they say they didn't have it also for some reason They say they only have one kind of beer but we couldn't really understand. We take it and in the end we have a really small glass of relatively normal beer for 680¥ (because they don't even tell the size of the beer you order)
It wasn't crowded at all, but we waited for really long. we waited for the drinks for 30 minutes. We waited for the food for atleast 50 minutes (maybe a bit more), a singular salad came for both of us, salad that we had time to finish when the rest of the set came 7 minutes later.
The food itself was okay (a bit expensive for what it was in my opinion but okay), however I asked for the large rice portion but didn't get it.
We came here thinking we could get vegetable-oriented dishes, but the vegetable component was mostly in the form of a salad by the side of a meat main. We were aware that it was not a vegetarian place, but also could not see the difference of this place with a regular teishoku place aside from the designated salad in the set.
Their staff itself was regular. The issue seemed to be due to bad logistics and how severely understaffed they were. The restaurant had 20-30 seats approximately and we could only three staff (two waitress and one working in the kitchen)...
Read morePlease be aware that despite having “vegetable” in its name, it is not a vegetarian or vegan restaurant. There are only a couple of vegetarian options as well.
We had the yasai tempura, and it was fresh and not greasy. However, we had it without the dipping sauce as it contains dashi; the server offered us the alternative of having it with salt and lemon (additional 30 yen for the lemon).
In fact the server was great. She was alert to the fact the miso soup and salad dressings might have dashi (or fish and meat products) so offered us alternatives, and did her best to accommodate.
The brown rice was really good by the way, soft and fluffy. The natto was delicious, as was the fried burdock root on the salad (though it got a little overwhelmingly sweet towards the end).
Would recommend, happy to go back again if we’re ever...
