When I walked into the restaurant, I tried to be friendly by nodding my head. It was a typical open-concept counter with seating that overlooked the kitchen. After ordering, I thought everything was fine. Once my noodles arrived, I wanted to add some seasoning spices. Unfortunately, I didn’t look carefully at how they were supposed to be used and ended up pouring the whole bottle of spices into my noodles. I was shocked, but I stayed calm since the spices were mostly on the surface. The waitress or owner (I’m not sure) saw what happened and walked over. Her expression seemed more annoyed that I had used the whole bottle rather than concerned about how she could help. I told her it was okay and just asked for a bowl so that I can quickly scooped them out to salvage the dish. She gave me the bowl, and I tried to smile at her, but she still looked very upset. Then, she took the remaining bottle of spices and walked away without even checking whether I could still eat the noodles. As for the taste, I ordered the shio ramen. Overall, the flavor was moderate, though to be fair, I can’t judge it completely since my broth had extra spices in it. I believe the staff (waitress/owner) should be more customer-oriented. To be honest, I have rarely encountered such behavior from...

There's an old lady waitress who is quite grumpy to foriner who can not speak Japanese. I understand that she probably had enough foriners who made her day more difficult due to language and culture barriers however I also wish that she understands most of Takayama's business rely on tourists like us. Otherwise, ramen was good and tasty. A lady chef in the kitchen seems professional enough and friendly to us.

Luckily there was a young lady who served us at the end for payment who was very kind 😇

I don't know maybe I am just stereotyped that most of Japanese are super nice and friendly that's why this kind of experience...

らーめん川路 is a great spot for a quick lunch—we didn’t have to wait at all, which was a pleasant surprise. The ramen was delicious, with rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. If you’re a fan of corn, definitely order the extra topping—it added a sweet, crunchy element that really complemented the dish.

While the ramen was great, it’s on the more expensive side compared to other places, but the quality makes it worth the extra cost. If you’re looking for a tasty, satisfying bowl of ramen without the wait, this is a...
