花岡 DINING and BAR — Restaurant in Takayama

Disappointing experience at this restaurant. We arrived at 7:30pm and were told all the dining tables were full, though the restaurant was well over half-empty. We were directed to seat at the lounge area if we would like to eat. A large group booking did come through later but there were still more than 20 empty tables we could have been seated at. It took over 25 minutes to have our drinks brought out and we needed to remind the servers. I presumed the seasonal vegetable salad I ordered would have Japanese flavours (radish, cucumber, etc.) but when it came out it was actually a ceasar salad, which tasted fine, but was not what I expected. The miso bolognese we ordered should be named another dish. It had spaghetti and mince, but that’s where the similarities to bolognese end. It was not very pleasant, the onion needed more cooking, and I barely ate half. The servers were perfectly kind, but perhaps they were understaffed as we felt unattended to for most...

What I liked about this restaurant:

The food was great. We had two dishes with hida beef, once roasted and once on a grill. The beef itself was delicious and the sauce for the vegetables was a great choice.

What i disliked about this restaurant:

The grillpan i recieved on my table was old and flakey, so i had to grill my food on the outside of the pan to avoid the pan flakes. The cocktail i ordered was terrible, I ordered a moscow mule, which tasted like pure lime juice. The ambiance is a bit cold and the music is in my opinion too faint. 初めて利用しました。 最初は良かったです。最初は。 ご飯も美味しかったし接客も丁寧で でも終盤になって 飲み放題2時間制だったので2時間で終了。 これはいいです。 でもその後30分デザートだけ来ず待たされました。 飲み放題終了時間より前にパスタは食べ終わってたので そこからの時間合わせると40分 いつまで経っても来ない。 デザートだけだからそんなかからないと思ってお酒も飲んでしまっていたため デザート来るまでの時間手持ち無沙汰。 私がトイレに立ち連れがデザートまだかとかく確認したところ 秒速で持ってきました。 忘れてたな。 謝りもせずさっと持ってきたそうです。 しかも時間かかるようなデザート（盛り合わせなど）なら待たされてもまぁ納得しますが 1口のレアチーズケーキ１個だけです。 時間なんか絶対かからんやろ。 こんだけの為に40分（それ以上かも）待ったのかとイライラしました。 入口の札に 予約で満席とか書いてありましたが 全然手が回らない状態ならそんなに人間を入れるなと言いたくなりました。 あと外国人の赤ちゃんがずーーーっとギャン泣きしてるのも放置。 赤ちゃんが泣くのは仕方ないですよ？ でもあの泣き叫びは注意レベルです。 周りもちょっと「え？」みたいな空気だったのに何とかできんのかって思いました。 私が聴覚過敏なのもあって苦痛でした。 せっかくお酒も飲んだのに酔いも冷めたし楽しみにしてた分ガッカリした。
