Everything is so nice and every detail of this cafe is so well designed. The drink and dessert are perfect. The sweetness of the Wakashi and the texture of the strawberry inside the Wakashi is very well balanced. The atmosphere is just so relaxing, can just order a cup of coffee and chill. Here provides English/Chinese menu as well, so no need to worry if can’t speak Japanese. Huge recommendation!!

The grandpa in the cafe is very nice, and he knows a lot of English. We had 2 cups of coffee, 1 hojicha and 2 sets of mochi. It a good place for tourist to stop by (especially when it is raining outside). This tiny cafe is on the first floor of a hotel, They have wooden stairs to go up only, no elevator, but you can put your luggage on the ground floor and walk up stairs for a short break.

The coffee was quite average and was not made using an espresso machine. It also came in a disposable cup with lid even though we were dining in. A bit disappointing. The space is lovely though and the mochi were tasty though quite expensive.

Very disappointed. 2 stars only bc they at least serve a matcha latte, which I searched specifically on Google maps and are oddly difficult to find in Takayama. Unlike the nice photo they posted themselves of a nice sized matcha latte in a Japanese porcelain mug (as you would expect for 550 yen) I instead received a very small to go cup, only half filled, with an overly sweetened and very watery tasting matcha "latte" which tasted like they don't even use milk. Should have trusted my "red flag" instincts that since this place is attached to a hotel the quality would be low... Sorry but don't...
