I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I had a pretty frustrating experience. I waited over 30 minutes for a single drink and ended up having to leave without it because I had other things to do. I totally get that they’re understaffed, it looked like there was only one person working and trying to manage everything, which is tough. But honestly, a quick heads up about the wait time would’ve gone a long way. It also might help if they found a way to streamline things when they’re short on staff. It’s not the employee’s fault she seemed to be doing their best. But it just didn’t feel like the place was set up to handle that kind of situation, and it left a bad impression. I highly recommend this place!! They have best quality ingredients, and everything is made with passion and love. The environment is clean, minimal, relaxing and the location is amazing facing the river in the center of Takayama. The girl who served us is the kindest person I have met: she is caring, precise and sweet. She explained us how to make matcha and she prepared some tasting for us without even asking: being there for a break truly made my day. this cafe is an absolute gem and was the highlight of our visit to takayama. the lovely barista was super helpful and patient in explaining the different roasts and taste profiles (excellent english too) and the coffee was fantastic!!
