This seems to be some type of tourist trap restaurant. Food wasn't bad at all, and staff were initially friendly, but...
I ordered a Ginger Ale and what I got tasted like mildly flavored still water with no bubbles and no taste of Ginger. I complained but the attitude given was that because it came from a bottle then it must be good and I the customer must be wrong. They charged me for it anyway, and refused to take it from the table even after the complaint and even after I ordered something else, only taking it when I insisted. It needed to be taken because the tables are very small. I read the attempt to leave it on the table as a kind of passive aggressive behaviour.
The final bill seemed incredibly inflated even with the unexpected charge of the Ginger Ale. They seemed to charge for many unexpected things such as a Wine Spritzer was charged as a separate wine and separate soda water instead of the one charge for the Spritzer. There seems to be one other charge which we don't understand either. I'm guessing they charged us an unexpectedly extra 2,000 Yen and then added 8% on top of that.
The quantity of food was not that much for the incredibly inflated price. Before we knew the final bill we were considering ordering more food because we were still a little hungry. But decided not to order because of the friendly but turned bad attitude of the waiter.
This place is a smoker restaurant where guests can smoke at any table... For example, the table next to ours. This is going to be absolute heaven if you...
Read moreLocated in Italian Town in Tokyo, this Italian/Spanish restaurant perfectly captures the essence of the area with its charming atmosphere and exterior.
During my visit for lunch on the weekend, I noticed that each customer was enjoying their time in their own way. Some were having a quick lunch between work, others were celebrating with champagne, and some relaxed with a cup of coffee. The cheerful service provided by the staff, who seemed to be from Latin Europe, greatly enhenced the European feel in the restaurant.
First, I ordered the Octopus and Avocado Marinade. The ingredient sizes were large, and the amount of olive oil sauce was much. That balance made by them was just perfect.
We also shared two types of pasta: Squid Ink and Crab Cream Sauce. Both had strong flavors, and the pasta was cooked slightly firmer than average. I loved that balance very much. The addition of chili peppers in the Squid Ink Pasta was particularly impressive. Chili taste works really well in their strong sauce.
I also noticed a variety of plates on their tapas menu. I can imagine enjoying dinner with friends, over some selection of...
Read moreI have been here twice in the past, enjoyed both visits. I love sitting outside overlooking the fake Italian piazza! This time, as a single female, I asked if I could get a half salad. “Sure”. Enjoyed the smaller salad, an appetizer, two glasses of wine and a coffee. Was having a great evening. Went to pay and was charged for a regular sized salad. Was told “sorry, small one is the same price”. Really? Then don’t tell me I can get a half salad - which would have cost 3/4 of the regular price at almost every other restaurant in Japan(which I would have been perfectly happy paying). Not acceptable. Bad business decision for a gain of about 200 yen.
Update: quick response from management greatly appreciated. Changing my review...
