As a person with vast experience in buying grilled beef in Japan, I can absolutely assure you that this place is incredibly good value, with incredibly good meat.
If you are English speaking, nothing to fear, basically everyone speaks some English. Open the door and step downstairs and everyone will help you impeccably.
If you’re inexperienced in places where you grill it yourself at the table, it’s no problem, the staff simply stood by my table and helped out, and they grilled everything for me on the spot in front of me.
All the best Yakiniku is in Osaka, where I normally spend time .. I was just so pleased to find this place where the meat is really remarkably good value. As always, don’t hesitate to buy the LESS expensive cuts, which is just what locals do.
The side dishes like the potatoes are just fantastic. I rarely give reviews on this site because almost everywhere is just rubbish and I can’t be bothered leaving bad reviews. I can assure you that after visiting maybe 10 steakhouses around this area, this is the only one I’ve bothered having a review for.
Just remember, you don’t have to pay for the most expensive cuts of meat. This review will probably mainly be read by English speaking people who are trying to find somewhere to enjoy that true Japanese meat experience. If you go to places further south in Shinjuku in the tourist areas … you’re going to be incredibly disappointed . I really hope this review helps some folks find this amazing spot. It’s only been open for six months or so when I write this, so they’re really all bending over backwards to give you fantastic service.
As a bonus, the wines are just impeccable, they’re very well chosen, and the price is not unreasonable. I would encourage you to buy moderately priced wines so you can enjoy the meat!
I hope this review helped some friends from overseas, all the...
Read moreThis place was only a block from Higashi-Shinjuku station and same from our hotel but what drew me to the place was the in-table BBQ and the menu which was unapologetically beef-forward. What I mean to say is that we were looking for Yakiniku BBQ beef and we wanted a place that didn’t dilute the experience with chicken or pork or sashimi (nothing wrong with that but IYKYK). This place was all those things—but the reason this was five stars across the board is because the service and experience blew us away!
I’m the kind of guy that likes to order a la carte so we ordered ablarge array of cuts (6 of us, celebrating the end of a month travelling throughout Japan) but the owner himself came out to grill for us! He also helped curate the cuts into an order where we could enjoy the progression. But the kicker was the bonus rounds! He offered for free a dozen extra pieces—small servings of rare cuts we didn’t order—I don’t know the name of all of them but they were the best bites we had all night.
Only negatives was the lack of vegetables but we will just have to eat twice as many greens tomorrow lol.
Overall a great memory of our...
Read moreWe were google searching for a place for our dinner and come across this, we read the review and decided to give it a try - and we’re so glad we did. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed dining experience. The food was really tasty, A5 Wagu beef, real truffles and caviar topping on one of the servings of raw beef. The location is easy to find and conveniently accessible. What truly stood out was the owner (we assume he is the owner) hospitality—not only help us with the cooking but also introduced which sauce to go with different cuts of the meat, which added a personal and memorable touch to the meal. The dessert was delightful, and the de-cafe tea was a perfect way to end the meal, pairing nicely with the richness of the meat. This got to be the best meal of our stay in Tokyo. For the quality of food and level of service, the pricing is more than fair. This place is definitely worth a visit. We will be sure to return if we ever visit Tokyo, and we regretted as we enjoy the meal so much, we forgotten to take a photo with the owner. Thank you so much for our...
