We wondered in here for dinner upon reading other positive reviews. The tonkatsu and pork cutlet set meals were authentic and prepared with care and attention. The pork tasted clean with a lovely crunchy coating. Nice fresh cabbage and a delightful miso soup with honey malt flavour. Service was friendly and authentic. The lady who served us helped with ordering even though we had help from technology. We were glad we asked for help as one of our diners wanted something that technology said wasn't on the menu, and it was. The draft lager was very well poured with a lovely creamy head and tasted super fresh, malty, and crisp. The atmosphere was an original experience with a few locals sharing a meal and a drink. We left satisfied and humbled by the authentic traditional customer service and wonderful meal. Welll done, Dōmo...

As a previous reviewer stated, "hidden gem" 💎 is right. Want a good katsudon? This is it. They don't speak much English, they appear to normally cater to the locals. The only words that I'm aware that they knew, chicken, pork, beer. Use the Google Translate app and you'll be fine. Food was delicious, exactly as expected. The lady running the place is very kind! Get here early, they're always busy. If you get refused immediate service, wait outside as the restaurant is very small. They'll call you in shortly, if you can wait...

It’s truly a hidden gem in the Shinjuku area. I found it randomly on Google Maps near where we were staying, and it turned out to be amazing. The place is very local, run by a friendly elderly lady (who only speaks Japanese) and the chef. It wasn’t too crowded when we went there around 7 PM, with mostly locals dining. All the food was delicious, freshly cooked, and...
