My Basket Higashi Shinjuku Station North — Local services in Tokyo

My Basket mini supermarkets fall somewhere between convenience stores and full fledged supermarkets in both the range of products they carry and price points.

However, convenience stores do offer the added luxury of their relatively dependable 24/7 service availability.

If there’s one thing that I wish Aeon would change about their My Basket store it would be their hours:

I wish My Basket stores would stay open 24/7 like most (but not all) convenience stores. This store is open between 7 AM and midnight.

On my few visits to date, this My Basket hasn’t had as nice of a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables as others nearby.

The prices are not super cheap, but they are fairly reasonable, and they do add a 30% discount to many items as they approach their expiry.

However, this My Basket store is only a few minutes’ walk away from the main Santoko Supermarket store, which is also open until midnight.

As Santoko always has a better selection of salads and breads, as well as many deli items, and they offer discounts of up to 50 percent off, I always stop there first, and only double back here if I still...
