The service is the worst. We went there with local Japanese for company dinner including foreigners from Top management. They wanted to try Yakitori and this shop was near and food review were good. So, we booked and went there. They are tiny shop. It is understandable. The first encounter was we were 5 people. We booked in advance so we got the seats. We squeezed in and enjoyed our meal. We didn't complain. But our Japanese colleague who was sitting near the passage way was cursed and told like he was blocking the way. Guess who told us? Not the other customers. It is the staffs.
We got annoyed but there are other foreigners in our group and we want to show our fullest respect to Japanese culture and didn't tell them anything.
And again, we went there on 7/31 2025 with 3 colleagues. As usual following japanese culture, we reserved in advance.
Then, when we went in, we were not give the table area. They only gave us counter seats. It is understandable that they are tiny and the only biggest table was for 5. But when I asked for why can't we get the table seat. One staff was so rude by just pointing finger and asked just sit there. And the chef came in and said "oh you guys got backpack, please sit near the entrance".
Ok, we cooprated.
Tehn, we ordered food. One of our Singaporean colleagues always wanted to eat good chicken heart grills.
So, we ordered 6 pieces first along with other items. 2 for each of us. Then, we asked them again is it ok to order for hearts (八ツ) and the chef said, we have it .But to reserve it for other customers, we can't sell it to you.
We were so amazed.
"They have the product. They don't serve you".
During our living time in Japan for over 7 years, this is my first time experiencing this.
Since we got our Singaporean colleague, who really admires Japanese culture and food, we didn't say anything and cooperated by silently and politely following their rules and paid in full when we leave.
So, if you're a foreigner trying to explore Japanese culture, i don't recommend this place. The food is nice but there are many other more around the area and all over the city.
Wish you all could enjoy your meal with peace of mind with the hard...
Read moreWe had walked past this restaurant a couple of times when we lived in Meguro, and on our last night in Japan we decided to try for seats. And we made it in immediately! It's very crowded but has a friendly atmosphere. There was no English menu, but we made do with Google Lens and got to ordering. The chicken skewers were high quality, and we especially enjoyed the roasted ginnan skewer and the pepper skewer with cheese. The chef was very friendly! It was a lovely final night in Japan! Tack...
