I truly cannot recommend Mai enough. She is incredibly skilled, warm, and professional — a rare combination that makes every visit feel special.

I first visited Mai for eyebrow and eyelash shaping and tinting, and I’ve been going back to her ever since. Her skills are truly exceptional — the best eyebrow shaping I’ve ever had! She’s incredibly precise and knows exactly what suits each face. In fact, she’s so good that my husband now also visits her for eyebrow shaping, and he’s always asking me when we can go again. That says a lot!

During my first pregnancy, I also had a prenatal massage with Mai, which was deeply relaxing and comforting. More recently, while pregnant again with my second one, I visited her for a facial because my skin had become very dry — and once again, she worked her magic. I left feeling refreshed, hydrated, and completely cared for.

What makes Mai truly stand out isn’t just her technique, but her presence. Every session feels like time with a trusted friend — she’s incredibly knowledgeable and has given me some of the best advice, not only about skincare but also about pregnancy, parenting, and expat life in general.

I had an amazing experience at La Plage! As a foreigner living in Japan, it can sometimes feel difficult to find the right salon, but Mai-san made me feel completely at ease from the moment I walked in. She is not only an excellent therapist and trained masseuse, but also incredibly thoughtful and kind.

During my first visit, she gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had—she doesn’t rush, takes her time, and makes sure every service is done perfectly. She even corrected my eyebrows beautifully. What impressed me most was that she went beyond the service itself—she shared great recommendations for vegan restaurants nearby and introduced me to daily-use beauty products I could try.

The salon itself is spotless, calm, and very welcoming. On my second visit, I came with my little daughter, and Mai-san showed such kindness and patience, handling my energetic child with so much love.

Mai’s hospitality goes beyond just her services—she’s so friendly and welcoming! She gave amazing recommendations for local restaurants and hidden gems that weren’t crowded with tourists, which made our trip even more special. (& I went to everything she recommended, haha) She also shared great skincare advice and recommended facial products tailored to me and my partners needs.

Her space is immaculate and has such a relaxing atmosphere. I only wish she was closer to home.
