Terrible as a restaurant and even as a human being. My dear friend has passed away not long ago. The last appointment we made, was to go eat shrimp at the restaurant. Unfortunately, she couldn't make it anymore. My last gift to her was to be this dish we planned to go eat.
Taking the bus to go to the restaurant and waiting for the opening. I wanted to make sure that the kitchen is open, but not very busy yet. But when explaining the situation, the person at the reception wasn't very understanding. "No take-out" was the answer. I'm not requesting take-out, I'm requesting a last gift for my deceased friend!
Because the worker only follows the manager's commands, I asked to explain to her boss. The reaction was very short and so my request was rejected without even considering! If you are going here to try the chicken over rice, my advice is “don’t go”.
Chicken is bland and not flavorful. They used regular white rice instead the normal yellow rice and just lacks flavors essential to chicken over riced. Even the salsa had no flavor. Couldn’t even finish the meal.
I was a bit misled by some menu items having names such as American junkie Hamburg and started to think that maybe they got things right. However it’s just another American themed cafe with a flavor palate that is better to be called an “izakaya” than an American dinner/cafe.
