STRI — Restaurant in Tokyo

Rooftop restaurant located on the 8th floor of a complex. STRI shares real estate with Bar Roja and Steak Coquette. The ambiance is really enjoyable with the bustle of the kitchen and lively music (90s American R&B when I was visiting).

I originally came in for the buffet, but was informed they only do the buffet during lunch hours. Regardless, I ordered a few items off of the dinner menu (dishes with a star on the menu are an indication of a signature dish) and I was NOT disappointed. I could tell they made the dishes with care and no over-seasoning or dryness.

The menu features prosciutto, salads, Italian-type side dishes, beef steak, oysters, pastas, tapas, and brick oven made pizzas. They have a small dessert menu as well.

This is a great date spot for evening time and I bet it would be great for family and friends for lunch. I'll be back to try the lunch buffet. I was impressed!...

My husband and I made a special reservation to host a Farewell party at this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, they seated us at the worst table with the most uncomfortable chairs. The stools kept wobbling to the point where some us decided to eat standing up. Also, the cushions provided no comfort which was another reason we couldn’t sit on them very long.

The cocktails at this place were also disappointing. The mojito had too much soda and way too much herb mint. We thought we were drinking a salad. It was not worth the price. Should you come here, avoid the cocktails and stick to the wine menu instead.

A pleasant surprise. I was not expecting a buffet to be this good. Their made to order Mont Blanc was pretty good as well.

For around 2000¥, there isn’t too big of a selection, but the quality and atmosphere of the place make up for it. Things you wouldn’t expect to taste good like pilaf, Buffalo chicken, or broccoli mousse tasted great. The only sad thing is that if you go late after peak times, they won’t bring out new food/refills. So go early.
