I could never understand the negative reviews for this place. I always drop by this shop whenever I’m in the area.
First of all, the service is fast and well-coordinated. The staff is nice and patient, though I do feel pressured to choose when there’s a long line (not the staff’s fault).
The store itself is small, but I love how all the donuts are neatly organized and displayed, with English and Japanese names. It makes it easy to know what you’re looking at, and it sure is a mouthwatering sight.
And finally the donuts. Some comments here say it’s too sweet, but I honestly don’t think so. Is it sweeter than a typical Japanese donut? Yes. Is it as sweet as American donuts? NO. It’s a good balance of sweetness. The variety of flavors is great, and some are quite interesting, too. The pistachio, earl grey, and coconut are my top 3, but the new flavors like Roasted Green Tea and Kahlua were pretty good, too! Honestly everything I tried was excellent.
The price is a little higher than your typical donut shop, but I’d rather get a good quality donut for the price of two meh donuts. They don’t skimp on the cream and ingredients. Pistachio actually has real pistachio, for example.
Can’t recommend this place more to...
Read moreA famous donut brand in Korea offering donuts and bread filled with a lot of cream. The donuts weren’t bad, but definitely on the sweet side for Japan. The staff seemed to be Korean as they were taking their time speaking Korean with some customers. Definitely not the same kind of hospitality you would get at a Japanese donut shop, but it wasn’t as off-putting as most of the previous reviews.
Most importantly regarding the actual donuts, I don’t think they will make it past 1.5-2 years in Japan as this will be a passing trend since the product is not that special. You can definitely find equally delicious donuts in Japan for a cheaper price and a more appropriate...
Read moreVisited the place by pure chance, as the flavour selection seemed impressive, even if it's kinda pricey. I tried the Earl Gray and mugwort donuts, and ended up disappointed by both somewhat... Earl Grey one vaguely tastes like tea; no hint of bergamot or anything that would make it Earl Gray otherwise whatsoever. Left a weird aftertaste on top of everything. The sweetness level was ok, though. Mugwort was much better in terms of flavour, with that signature grassy hint that makes it oh-so-enjoyable. The aftertaste is also very pleasant. However, it was just too sweet! Maybe the other flavours are much better, but it was kind of a let...
