A Hidden Gem Beneath Shinjuku
Subterraneans is a cozy underground bar with a truly special vibe. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just grab a drink — you connect.
The owner is honestly one of the most welcoming and genuine people I’ve met in Japan. We had a great conversation, and what really stood out was his attentiveness and creativity. I asked for something specific, and he didn’t just reach for the obvious — he crafted something on the spot that perfectly fit the mood. You can tell he’s passionate about both the drinks and the people.
The atmosphere is warm and intimate, with just the right music and lighting to make you want to stay longer than planned.
If you’re looking for a bar that feels personal, authentic, and alive — this is the one. No gimmicks, just good energy, great conversation, and drinks...

I will come back here every time I visit Japan. Thank...

Drinks are cheap and staff is friendly.
Don't worry if you don't find the entrance at first. There's a huge white door that leads to the basement; if you're unsure try and...
