BOTEJYU Shibuya Store — Restaurant in Tokyo

Went here for lunch today. There was one salaryman queuing at the top of the stairs and you can't go in until someone leaves. After he went in, we queued for another 20 minutes until a couple people left. It was a relief to come into the air conditioning. We were seated at a nice table where you could clearly see the chef making the food off a huge griddle. The waitress will bring glasses of water. Menus were all in Japanese, so will need to use Google translate to figure out which okonomiyaki to eat. Must push the buzzer to get service or to order stuff. I had the oyster okonomiyaki ¥1500 which was good. Another had a combination flavored okonomiyaki¥1450 and another had the greasy yakisoba ~¥980. The okonomiyaki was about the width of a regular iphone served on a metal griddle to keep it warm. There is a larger wooden box on the side that has bonito flakes to add to your taste. Stopped here on my way to the Shibuya crossing to try the okonomiyaki. The qr-code for the menu didn’t work and the menu was in Japanese, so I ordered one (number 6) that seemed tasty with shrimps, squid (I think), egg and something else I couldn’t identify. The restaurant is quite small but I managed to get a table (I don’t like eating at the counter). The bathroom was very tight but it looked clean and they had paper towels for your hands. My okonomiyaki was substantial, I couldn’t finish it. It was good, but you feel you’re eating A LOT of calories, with the mayonnaise and everything else. Was ok to try, but I wouldn’t order it again.
