What do metal music and craft beer have in common?
Quite a lot apparently, as you’ll discover when you make a visit to Brewpub Truth.
I was first man in, when the brewpub opened, and had a quiet introductory chat with the owner, over a tasty Hazy IPA whilst we both enjoyed the concert he was projecting onto one of the blank walls. It was Trimm Trabb live in Hyde Park; I’d never heard of them until now!
Now this place seemed quiet and unassuming, but it was about to get bananas.
Firstly came the brewer of the Hazy IPA I was trying. I was convinced this was a very high 4.75 or even 5.00 on Untappd, but I couldn’t find it. He went on to explain that he was from TAF brewing and it was his first ever beer… So juicy, so tasty, so refreshing…
The brewer must have been launching his beer because a steady stream of his friends and supporters entered the pub to try the beer and talk and mingle.

The toilet’s been mentioned in other reviews but it has to be experienced in person. It’s hard to describe what is happening.

Read moreWonderful music/craft beer enthusiast bar in Gotanda. I’ve been staying in the area for a month and deeply regret not coming here until my last week because I would have been a regular for my entire trip. The owner is very cool, is obviously passionate about beer and music, and speaks excellent English if you’re feeling intimidated by visiting a small, niche bar. You can also count on meeting a lovely mix of local and local expat clientele of likeminded individuals. Healthy mix of foreign and local beers, and at least at the time of my visits, the owner has started collaborating on brews so I figure there is a good chance you will see a lot more in-house beers available...
