A very family friendly hotel that has western style family rooms. A generous size with a well equipped room, bathtub, fridge. The toilet is separated from the bathtub. The bath has a mix of a traditional sit down shower and bathtub. Cleanliness was topnotch. The bath and toilet was perfectly clean. New sheets. The flooring is tatami type and quiet and clean to step on, summer or winter.
Glasses and cups are plenty in your room, along with plenty of towels and amenities. The bed is comfortable, not overly soft or hard. Two pillows and a nice thick comforter.
Heating for rooms is perfect even in winter. Not too hot, very comfortable to be in shorts and shirt.
The corner room gives you two beautiful facings of Tokyo which you could by and enjoy, and has two long sofas that are good sized and can be converted into two comfortable beds. A family of 4 could each have their own beds. Windows are perfectly clean to enjoy the view.
Plenty of charging sockets for phones beside the bed and sofa.
The breakfast cafe is small and compact and good for one or two days. The highlight though would be the proximity to gotanda station and their local station. So you are connected to the important asakusa and yamanote train lines directly without switching lines.
The food court directly below the hotel has actually very good food. The onigiri store especially offers very good onigiri for a low price. They open early and close late too. Plenty of family mart/Lawson/7eleven stores just below.
Gotanda's location lets you enjoy the local life, yet only a few stops away from main tourist/shopping/cultural hubs like shibuya, Shinagawa, shinjuku, Tokyo station, Tokyo Disney land, diver city. Gotanda is smack in the middle. Gotanda itself is a little more laid back, so you don't have to start your day with a jam packed train station. You usually can get seats to your destination at non peak hours. Of course peak hours is typical of yamanote lines.
Haneda airport is also very close to gotanda and is only a short ride away. Narita is much further, but is still very convenient. Gotanda to Narita requires a simple switch at Shinagawa station, you can choose at Shinagawa whether you want to take the cheaper local train or express airport train to Narita airport. Both are about 90mins or less. Express trains require an extra ticket that can be bought at Shinagawa station, otherwise the suica card can be used for local train all the way to...
Read moreI stayed at this property for 10 nights towards the end of July 2024. I’ve previously stayed at another Omo a year before and had a decent experience and had some idea of what to expect. A huge priority other than having a clean space was that there would be a laundry facility onsite and they certainly did (I believe it is on the 15th floor). It was very convenient because you can check the status of your laundry via their website. You also don’t need to purchase detergent because the washer already has it. Very simple to use. Just bring your phone and you’ll figure it out. There’s also a microwave, water dispenser and vending machine inside of the laundry room. We stayed in a twin bed room (has two twin beds). Room was spacious and clean. I think the hotel is pretty new so that helps. I’m not the type who needs room service so I can’t rate that but they did hang clean towels on my door everyday. Some days I’d just give it back to the cleaning crew since I didn’t need it. I read some reviews where staff was rude but that wasn't my experience. Whenever we’d walk by the front desk, employees would greet us and when I had questions they were always helpful. The front desk also helped me call a cab the day I left. It was very helpful. The only thing that needs improvement are the curtains. I wish they were blackout curtains. It’s not terrible but when you’re on vacation and jet lagged it helps to have a room thats pitch black. If you’re really sensitive to this them this isn’t the hotel for you. It wasn’t a dealbreaker for me but I think this is something that’s really important to many customers. This location is also great. Just a short 5 minutes walk from Gotanda station and there are plenty of restaurants, shops, pharmacy, etc nearby. I would definitely...
