I stayed at this hotel for a full week in March 2025, paying approximately $100 per night. Overall, my experience was quite positive, with a few minor drawbacks.
Pros:
Convenient Location: The hotel is within close walking distance to Gotanda Station, making it a great option for those frequently commuting via the Yamanote Line. This ensures easy access to major areas like Shinjuku and Shibuya without the high accommodation costs of staying directly in those districts.
Nearby Amenities: Convenience stores and a supermarket are just around the corner, making it easy to grab food and snacks at any time of the day or night.
Close to Don Quijote (Donki) Gotanda: While this branch is smaller compared to the ones in Shinjuku or Shibuya, it is significantly less crowded, providing a more comfortable shopping experience.
Good Hotel Amenities: The hotel offers self-service amenities, allowing guests to pick what they need. Daily housekeeping is available upon request, and the hotel provides pajamas and fresh towels, which add to the comfort of the stay.
Cons:
Small Room Size: As expected in Tokyo, the room is quite compact. While the double bed is suitable for two people to sleep in, the overall space can feel cramped if two guests are staying together. However, for solo travelers, the room size is perfect.
Limited Bed Space: The bed, though a double, may feel small for two people who prefer more sleeping space.
Despite the compact room size, I had a pleasant stay. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and I did not encounter any issues throughout the week. If you are looking for an affordable hotel with a great location near Gotanda Station, this is a solid option. It is especially ideal for solo travelers or those who prioritize convenience and cleanliness over spacious accommodations. I would definitely recommend it for those seeking a budget-friendly stay close to Shinjuku...
Read moreJust spent seven nights in this hotel. |Room was clean and employees were friendly. |The room was very small. It may be fine for an individual who needs the room for nothing more than sleeping. Two people could not stay in this room, at the same time. When staying in a hotel for more than one night, I like to unpack. In this room there was no place to unpack. The option was to open my suitcase on the bed while accessing my belongings then close it up while sleeping. |The livable area of the room was 90” X 93” and the bed took up almost all of that. This room was a little smaller than the room in my last camping trailer (RV). There was a desktop surface but with the size of the room it was difficult to sit and do any work. |The bathroom was very small, like the room, about the size of the bathroom in a camping trailer. |The breakfast was very basic, perhaps typical for the area, although the pastries were awesome. |The area was great for shopping and eating. There is a Lawson’s convenience store across the street and a local grocery store (“My Basket”) right next store. |The Gotanda train station was an easy five minute walk. Ohsaki New City shopping and Oosaki train station is about 10-15 minute walk. |If in this area again for more than a one night stay, it is very unlikely I would stay here again, it simply doesn’t...
Read moreNot too far from Gotanda station is this OK priced and quite well located hotel. I stayed in a 12sqm double room with small double bed that was placed up against a wall. The room had a TV, bar fridge, kettle, air conditioner, Japanese power points near the desk and at the bed, WiFi (speeds during the peak evening times of 30-40mbps), robes, hair dryer, air purifier, deodoriser spray, toiletries, and on the reception floor additional toiletries and tea sachets were available.
Upon entering the room, there was a cigarette smoke smell in the room, but the air purifier got rid of it quickly. There was also an opening window with a closing side shutter. They also do a full clean / changing of the sheets every 3 nights. However, you can leave your used towels outside daily to get fresh ones. There's also three coin operated washing machines on the ground floor.
Included was breakfast. It was basic and not the best tasting but adequate and included a few pastries, a curry with rice, miso soup as well as a machine dispenser with additional soup options, Japanese omelette, cabbage based salad with sesame dressing, black coffee machine, and a few other cooked light Japanese food.
The staff are...
