Byron Bay Coffee Company — Restaurant in Tokyo

This coffee place used to be one of my favorites—until today.

Their coffee and pastries are great, but when I walked in today, the place was packed. I've been there more than ten times, and every time, the staff has asked customers to find a seat before placing their order. Luckily, three people left just as I arrived, so I found a seat and placed my bag there.

But then, a staff member came over and said, "There were customers waiting before you, sorry!" I couldn't understand why they said that. There were three open seats, and only two people waiting. I don't know why they removed one of the seats and told me, essentially, "You can't sit here, thanks!"

Lately, the place has become more popular, and I've noticed the staff are very kind to tourists. But it feels like they don't treat local customers with the same care. If I were a tourist, I doubt they would have spoken to me that way. I left feeling very...

Bad coffee. The coffee tastes overwhelmingly like milk, completely masking any distinct flavor from the beans. It's as if the coffee was diluted beyond recognition, leaving a bland, lifeless taste that fails to deliver the rich, robust experience one expects. The absence of any pronounced coffee notes makes each sip feel more like drinking warm milk than enjoying a well-brewed cup of coffee. Overall, it's a disappointing experience that lacks both depth and character.

Service is bad as well. Ordered take out but waited in the shop cuz it’s cold, got “asked” to wait outside instead, since it’s “take out” they would bring the coffee to the “window” later.The shop wasn’t even crowded. Such poor quality coffee took a good 10 minutes to make....

We used to come by every time we were in the area. If I remembered it correctly, coffee used to be good (or else we wouldn’t be going there often if we were in the area).

For an Australian coffee place…. It’s not that great…

We’ve been quite excited to finally get some good flat white since its been awhile but this place doesn’t offer that, unfortunately.

They used a cappuccino cup for their flat white, even on a small size and their flat white is too runny with lots of milk. Def not australian standard. (Or at least compared to Melbourne.. maybe this is the Sydney standard).

The ice long black also wasn’t that great. Service i have to say is subpar for japanese too. I feel like I got treated better in...
