Really amazing tacos. Warning though, these are even smaller than regular street tacos. I had no idea when I ordered and wished there was something written on the menu that explicitly stated “street taco style” because a normal taco is nowhere this tiny. I felt a little upset because the pictures make them look normal sized. The price for just two half orders (I wanted to try two different types) plus a drink (which you HAVE to buy just by eating there) and an appetizer was over 3,200 yen, and I was unfortunately was still hungry after. All the flavors are there and the tacos tasted great. The corn was a little over seasoned for my taste but still good. I had a horchata which was legit but way too much ice. I feel like this is more of a “let’s get some drinks and nibble on a taco or two” type of place rather than a sit down have a filling meal type of place. Maybe If they served a set of tacos with beans and rice it would have been more filling but there weren’t even any set options on the menu (unless I missed it or went during their dinner time rather than lunch). There were only course options for 2 or more people which doesn’t work when you’re flying solo.
Another issue (which I’m sadly finding out recently at many places I’ve gone into) was that the restaurant was practically empty and they wanted to seat me in a super tall bar seat and I’m very pregnant so when I requested a table because the bar seat would be unsafe and uncomfortable, the cook gave me a “you’ll have to move when it gets busy” before I even sat down. It never got busy and it was unnecessary to say that to me in until it...
Read moreTasty tacos and drinks. A bit on the pricey side, but what do you expect from Shibuya?
It’s located on the edge a shady part of Dogenzaka in Shibuya. Pretty easy to get to from the station. The place does get busy so make reservations if possible. You may be turned away if you just show up at a busy time.
The prices seem reasonable when ordering, but when you see how tiny the tacos are, you’re going to need eat quite a few. They do warn you on the menu that the tacos are two-bite sized.
They also require a one drink minimum and all the soft drinks are 600¥ for about 4 gulps of liquid. Alcohol has a wide range of prices and it’s mostly tequila or mezcal (they have a good selection for japan).
All that being said, the food tasted great. Lots of flavor from the sauces and fillings all the way to nice texture from the thin and tiny corn tortillas.
Bring your own hot sauce if...
Read moreTacos are too small for the price. The price should be lower for these sizes of tacos. Original tacos are not this small. Our drinks had too much ice that cost 660 yen for coke?!?. Also it's waiters job to tell us which food is sold out when we arrive? But when we are ready to order he tell us then which is too late cause we have to rethink our orders.... Also they shouldn't be extra charge of 100 yen for sauces when we order 9 tacos... The sauces should come with the 9 tacos but they give us enough sauce for three tacos?!? Then ask us to pay more money for sauce? Lastly they should have one staff speak english. I told him I don't speak japanese but proceeds to speak japanese with me?? It's a shame because the food was actually tasty! This would be 5 star rating if they can work on...
