Dining Lieu — Restaurant in Tokyo

During our last day in Tokyo we did not want to go too far for dinner since we had an active week of tours and sightseeing.

We wanted to have an early dinner and take it easy so we decided to go to Dining Lieu which was located in the same Hotel where we were staying.

We were seated as soon as they opened for dinner at 17:30. We both ordered the Pre-Set dinner and upgraded to the Waygu steak. The oderve was delicious and so was the smoked salmon started. My wife ordered the eel risotto and was very flavorful. The steaks were very flavorful and prepared to the selected cooking temperature (medium rare and medium). However, since they were served in an iron skillet, they continued to cook and the last few pieces ended up being over done to our preference. Desserts and coffee were very good as well (cheesecake and chocolate cake).

Everyone was very attentive and the service was exceptional. Portions were appropriate and we were able to enjoy our meal without being stuffed.

Went for dinner while staying at the hotel and tried the chef's tasting menu. Very disappointing. The service was fine but maybe trying too hard with staff wearing gloves and also quite loud music so difficult to hear the servers who were wearing masks. The food was just bland - lacking in flavour, quantity and dull presentation. Also felt rushed to finish before 10pm closing time even through we were easily within that time. We had high hopes but unfortunately this was the most disappointing meal of the trip in terms of value for money. Shame as the hotel...
