Ichigen Ebi (prawn) ramen shop. This place is super super popular with locals and tourists and is one of the few shops around Tokyo. Hard to locate and get to given that it's a bit out of the way from the station but worth waiting for... If you go around 11am or 3pm, the odd hours definitely mean the lines are shorter. I have taken photos of the menu so please review before visiting and make sure you know how to order from the vending machine. Top is normal, below is moderate soup and 3rd is the strong heavy soups. I had the heavy one and it is THICK. Liquid fat/oil. So much flavour. I reckon ebimiso ramen over any tonkotsu pork ramen. Hands down. Fyi, dont mix in the black paste if you do not like charred BBQ type flavour.

OMG this was my favorite restaurant when I visited Tokyo that I went back and tried the same ebi soba again the day before we leave Tokyo. We tried so many good restaurants but this was my No.1! I generally am not a big fan of eating shrimps but I love shrimp products including this. The soup was so rich in flavor and intense in the shrimp-ness, but also oily at the same time. They use both shrimp heads and pork fat in their soup so that was why the soup was so good and addictive. I tried both thick and thin noodles and they were both good. I love the original flavor and the combination flavor(with pork soup). I miss this restaurant and if I visit Tokyo or Hokkaido again, I’d definitely go there again!

The ramen is really good if you are a shrimp lover. This shop is well-known for its soup base which is made from shrimp instead of pork marrow bones. The soup base is so rich that you like tasting lobster bisque. You must love this place if you are a ramen and shrimp lover. With only 10+ seat, you can expect a long wait in particular if you want to dine there during meal hours. In order to avoid the crowd and long waiting, later afternoon will be a good time. Very likely that i will come again in my next visit to Shinjuku.

I asked the visitors from abroad on the queue then they said it is famous among foreigners So I can recommend not only domestic people but also visitors from abroad! The order system is Not good , they give us the menu in English but actually you need to buy ticket at vending machine but there is no English ... they should just simply add English on the buttons , too! Because you have to choose the noodle type , soup dense , and soup taste for the noodle.

Fermented shrimp broth ramen 900円with extra chashuu 200円and onigiri 170円。overall the fermented shrimp flavour is too strong so this is not for me but it is very unique so I still recommend you try it once! I tried dropping the onigiri in the leftover broth to make risotto and it was also unique but I wouldn’t do it again. If they toned down the fermented shrimp flavour it could be a 5 for me. Very salty broth too. Overall 4/5

I wrote in English after Japanese. I went to Ichigen Shinjuku store. This shop is a ramen shop that uses shrimp extract abundantly based on pork bones. Please refrain from the crustacean if it is not good. It is an alley that enters one from Kotakibashi Street, and it is difficult to understand Chot in the place which turned once more, but it is about a 5-minute walk from the west exit of Shinjuku Station. The time was free at 16:50. There is a ticket vending machine on the left hand side. Ebisio, as it is, order thick noodles It came out in about seven minutes to wait. The bench behind the counter is probably because it's crowded. The scent of shrimp stands out. When I pour the soup, I feel the shrimp very much. It is not a raw smell, but a concentrated extract and has little miscellaneous taste. It goes well with tonkotsu soup. Let's make thin noodles this time
