Exploring a New Ramen Shop
Since I came to Tokyo for a meeting, I decided to explore a ramen shop. I was in the mood for tonkotsu ramen for the first time in a while, so I went to try some.
The broth was quite close to the tonkotsu ramen I used to have in Fukuoka, so for me, it was a hit. It had that straight, no-nonsense tonkotsu flavor, which I think might divide opinions, but I personally loved it. The noodles were thin and cooked just like the authentic Hakata style. I prefer the standard firmness, so that’s what I ordered.
One thing I always feel after eating Hakata tonkotsu ramen is that the portion of noodles isn’t enough. Maybe because they’re thin, but without a kaedama (noodle refill), I just don’t feel full.
That’s why I’d really appreciate it if the price already included a kaedama.

Read moreVery decent Hakata Ramen. This is Ramen cooked in the way they do in an area of Kyushu. The most characteristic thing is the soup made out of the pork bones. This one is a little bit pricier than the usual, for the one in the picture I paid 950¥. I ordered then a kaedama (one extra set of noodles) and it was 150 yens. The size of this kaedama was quite decent. It is the best hakata ramen I found in the area so far. Egg its cooked just perfect and the meat its also great!
If just it would be a little bit cheaper... that would get this place the...
Read moreOne of the most authentic Hakata tonkotsu ramen in Tokyo! Despite the rich flavor, the soup was light and the hard (bari-kata) noodle combination was simply amazing. I couldn't stop myself from ordering extra noodles (kaedama). Perfect bowl to finish a night after some drinks!
