House of Mao Noodle Shop — Restaurant in Tokyo

We visited this tiny Chinese cuisine shop located near Sendagi station. Also within yanaka neighborhood.

We ordered a mabo tofu with rice and sour spicy noodle soup. They were more delicious than I expected. I really loved it. After I finished my tofu there’s still sauce left. I was thinking to order extra rice for my son to finish it but the owner gave us free rice saying that it was included in the noodles set. We really appreciate it.

The signature dish are some super nice dan dan mien (tantanmen) at only 880 yen. Another must-try on the menu are the vegetable and shrimp dumplings for 500 yen (number 13 on the non-illustrated menu). 意を決して入ってみた

店の一番のオススメの坦々麺と水餃子を注文

坦々麺は極細麺にクリーミーなスープ 黒ゴマたっぷり アクセントにパクチーが数切れ(なので パクチー苦手な人は抜いてもらうといいと思います)

辛さは強くないんだけど ゴマの風味がすごく効いていて とても美味しい 軽めの細麺とあいまって スープをたっぷりとからめてきてくれるので とても素晴らしい

水餃子の方も かなりどっしりお肉が詰まってて 味付けもしっかりしてて これも相当美味しい

味だけとると とても素晴らしい 会社からも近いので おそらく この先もリピートしそう

ただ 一つだけ ちょっと問題というか 注文の仕方が悪かったのかもしれないけど…

坦々麺は極細麺で ゆで時間が殆どないようで 注文すると えっ? もうできたの?? ってくらいの時間で(1,2分で)出てくる

それに対して 水餃子はたっぷりゆで時間がかかるのでいっこうに出てこない

注文された料理をそれぞれ最速で出してくれようとするので(それ自体は決して間違ったことではないです はい(わら) 結果 坦々麺を完食してしまって その後5分くらいかな またされて んー もしかして 水餃子の注文忘れられたかな?? 確認するか… と 思ったところで 水餃子が出てきた という 事態に😅

とりあえず 坦々麺は ものすごく一瞬で出てくるので ひとまず 坦々麺を頼むときは まず それ以外のサイドメニューを注文して 出てきたら...
