If a local wasnt kind enough to take me to the restaurant, yes, literrally walked me to the restaurant, I wouldnt know that alley would host an excellent unagi restaurant. The restaurant has a traditional set up with wood front gate, a small front sand garden, and a quite atmosphere, even though it was busy. I order to go and while waiting to pick up my order, I witnessed the chef fillet the eels. There was a charcoal grill the opposite side. It is quite expensive however the food quality is totally worth it. My take out has a warm element bag and when I pulled the string, it warmed up the food instantly. You prob didnt see the smoke coming from the steaming bag but yes, it is smoky steaming. So cool. The unagi was excellent. You know how store bought or restaurant eaten unagi has a bit chewiness to it. This unagi is melting and falling apart. The sauce was also very good. One thing I wasnt really satisfied was the rice, I like it a bit more sticky but I guess its made just right to go with the so tender unagi. My son is an unagi eater and...

Follow your nose. This oasis is hidden behind a sliding wooden gate that opens up to a calm quiet garden. Google maps will guide you to the entrance but the delicious aromas will open the door to a wonderful dining experience. We wandered in the early evening without reservations during Golden Week. The staff was so very warm, welcoming, and accommodating. Our server was patient and kind. My daughter and I ordered boxed sets A and B because it came with a huge variety of samples and we didn't know what to order. The eel was prepared in so many deliciously different ways. The ambience was calming and peaceful and made for a much needed respite from our 14...

Hidden at the end of an alley behind a wooden gate. Easy to miss unless you're looking for it. I'm glad I listened to the other reviews. Very traditional Japanese aesthetic with tatami mats and sunken tables.

Only Japanese menu but plenty of pictures and the young waiter was very patient; he helped explain in English my different options. Excellent unagi meal set, with an after meal drink and dessert! Quality of their food definitely makes it worth it.

Definitely recommend this location if you are near...

Very disappointing lunch, especially as it was expensive and beautifully presented. At nearly 6,000 yen for a set lunch plus a drink, it should have been much tastier. The eel was just okay and the daikon radish dish was fantastic. Rest of the dishes (7 others) were pretty tasteless, like something from a cafeteria. Service was fine, the atmosphere was cool, in an older traditional Japanese building. No English menu. Was really looking forward to it but it ended up being the worst value for money during my Tokyo trip.
