Ichikatsu — Restaurant in Tokyo

Great spot. We were the only foreigners in the place and they was just what I was looking for. Filled with salarymen and locals, we queued for a short time before being seated at the counter.

English menu is available. We ordered pork cutlet (tonkatsu) and the meal arrived with heaped cabbage, bowl of rice, miso soup and green tea. For the price, incredible value.

The food itself, amazing. You can tell the chef and the team are very proud of the product they deliver. We enjoyed watching the action in the kitchen and were very appreciative of the environment, service and food.

Food was delicious and portions we're big for the 690 yen price we paid. The set comes with a big pork loin, big bowl of rice, giant mound of shredded lettuce, and bowl of miso soup. The pork is freshly fried to order and the staff is very friendly.

One of the staff came over with an English menu upon us walking in while we sat in line on the stools to be seated. They will take your order and then seat you when a spot opens up. It was a little hard to me to find the place but just follow your map. It's a cozy restaurant with counter seats. The service was efficient and excellent. The staff would offer to refill my green tea and ice water if they noticed the cup or glass getting empty. I'm no expert but it was the best katsu I have ever had. The batter was crispy but light, a lot less oily than any other katsu I have had. The pork loin was juicy and tender, too. The miso soup and rice were very decent as well.
